Might wanna aim for the groin. Less redundancy and if you break a bone down there then it'll have trouble walking. t might be able to go up walls or something, but appearances indicate that it is taking the stairs, and is too big to dodge while doing so. Might cost a lot of ammo, but a blaze of glory while it is getting to the second floor really ought to do for it.

Nasty! Keep shooting. Headshot didn't kill it, try other spots. Or maybe you need to shoot both heads?

Since it's a bit blind you could sidestep it by hanging off the balcony to get back to the first floor, then dashing towards the door so it can't cut you off.

it's still moving and you still have bullets. You know what to do.

You’ve got an improvised anti-personnel mine. All you have to do is get some distance between you and the monster so that you don’t get caught in the explosion!

But I don’t like that the mine has a 50/50 chance of not working. Maybe if we had examined it before rushing into battle, we could’ve done something to improve the odds of the mine exploding?

With the way that thing walks I doubt that thing would step on it anyway.
We'll force it to explode.

place it at the top of the stairs, run down the hallway, and shoot it.

>Might wanna aim for the groin. Less redundancy and if you break a bone down there then it'll have trouble walking.
Jaclyn aims for the Conjoined Monstrosity as it shambles up the stairs. With little room to dodge, the shot hits!

The Conjoined Monstrosity screeches in pain and spits a fetid sludge from the wound down the middle of it's torso (DEXTERITY C + BLINDED: SOMEWHAT UNLIKELY) The monster's acid misses! Though the smell is enough to make Jaclyn gag.

>>949242
>You’ve got an improvised anti-personnel mine.
>place it at the top of the stairs, run down the hallway, and shoot it.
Jaclyn takes out the improvised anti-personnel mine and plants it at the top of the stairs...

Jaclyn waits for the monstrosity to reach the mine and then fires. The explosion catches the conjoined creature and sends it flying through the banister and onto the floor. It's rasping breath can still be heard along with the shuffling of movement, and the squeaking of hinges as a door opens.

JACLYN HAS FIRED 5 SMALL BULLETS! SHE HAS 15 LEFT!

It's retreating into the kitchen? Or is something coming through the front door? Go look.

If it's heading into the kitchen it's probably gonna eat the head in the freezer to recover. We need more firepower to put it down... time to search that one room we haven't entered yet, and possibly more carefully search the room we hastily looked through.
>>
No. 949334 ID: 8d4593

Oh hell no. That monstrosity isn't getting away!
Press the attack. Shoot it in it's other head this time!

While you're here though, crush the dear skull on the mannequin in that closet next to you.
It's horns are awfully similar to the ones protruding from the creature below.

Good plan.

There was a book on a table next to a bloody head that seemed important.

JACLYN: Nothing's entered the house, and that things gone...I don't hear anything in the kitchen.

JACLYN: Which room is that?

There’s surprisingly little damage to the stairs, considering an explosion went off on them.

>no monster
It must’ve gone back to the basement. You’d better not follow it without some type of light source.

>>time to search that one room we haven't entered yet
>Which room is that?
Ignore that. You’ve already been to all of the rooms upstairs.

What we meant to say was to go back to that room where you shot the cultist. Now that the monster has run away, you’ve got a chance to search that room more thoroughly.
>>
No. 949390 ID: b1b4f3

>which room is that?
Nevermind, I forgot the last door went to the tiny room with the cage.

...which door opened? The basement has no door now. Well, it probably fled out the front door if it didn't go into the kitchen. Carefully enter the kitchen to find out. If it's not in there, then it's left the house which is fine, and we can use an improvised torch to search the basement.
>>
No. 949398 ID: b1b4f3

...I guess if there's a second door in the basement it might be down there. Maybe we should search the madman's room in that case.
>>
No. 949399 ID: 977456

Y'know, there is no reason to expect a rewards for exploring the whole house. Let's just leave and find something less... cannibalistic...
>>
No. 949404 ID: 8d4593

There was something big in the basement. A boiler maybe?
And I think there was a door beneath the stairs.
Upstairs, it looked like there was a hole in the wall behind the cage. Maybe it links to the basement?
Either way, we need a lightsource to get down there. Torches will do.

>>949399
Oh fuck all that. Piece of mind is it's own reward.
Would you wanna explore a creepy city knowing that thing was still running around?
That thing needs to die.

There isn't a hole in the wall. That was an emaciated corpse in the cage.

It is an entire city. Unless this is secretly Doomguy's origin story, we are not going door-to-door pacifying it in its entirety. We can't even secure our access path unless we trap it to the nines. Yes, every dead monster helps our piece of mind, but the minds around here are clearly in a lot of pieces, just one isn't worth thinking about.

No. 949447 ID: 8d4593

>>949445
Yes, that's true.
But given the (+1 Insanity) modifier a bit back, it's also a bit meta.
That thing shouldn't exist as far as our character is concerned.
Given that Jaclyn only encountered this thing like a minute ago and has been fighting most of that time, she probably hasn't been able to fully digest the implications it presents.

That said, there is merit to securing this location.
1: If it's cleared out we can much more safely comb through it properly.
2: We have few supplies, no base of operations, and we cannot assume anywhere deeper in will be easier to take. We're here and have already done half the job. Might as well finish it.
3: We need allies. Jaclyn's background suggests more of a command/control type position rather than an 'on the ground' one. As the first location encountered it's reasonable to assume this farmhouse is near the entrance to the city. If the guy we encountered here is any indication of the kind of people who can be found in the walls, than this might be the best place to find a potential friend. With any luck we'll spot another seeker coming in.

Don’t forget that, if the water pipers are or cut or damaged, this farm is nearby the water tower so we’ll still have easy access to drinkable water.

>>949390
>Well, it probably fled out the front door if it didn't go into the kitchen. Carefully enter the kitchen to find out.
JACLYN: ...Nothing in here, it must have left the house.

While in the kitchen Jaclyn remembers to check the garbage disposal pipe. She finds a small scratched key!

>>>949399
JACLYN: This is true...Though there may be things in the basement, and I have yet to open the cage upstairs which I'm sure this key opens.

>there is merit to securing this location...If it's cleared out we can much more safely comb through it properly...
>we cannot assume anywhere deeper in will be easier to take. We're here and have already done half the job. Might as well finish it.
JACLYN: I haven't been hurt at all yet, so it's not like I can't continue. Still have ammo, though I'm not sure how many bullets it'll take to kill that thing. Now that I think about it if I left now not only would I gain nothing, I would also be down 5 bullets.

That emaciated corpse is the cage might be holding something. Just make sure it’s a corpse and not another monster waiting to ambush whoever opens the cage.

Although, don’t worry about that for now. Let’s focus on the room you’re in right now.

>Look inside wardrobe.
JACLYN: Already checked, nothin' in there.

>Take book
JACLYN: It looks like it used to be a book on wood sculpting techniques, but the inside's been defaced with blood and ink. A lot of this is just garbled nothing. A few of the pictures are still clear though, don't think I have time to learn though...

>Check under the bed
JACLYN: I checked under here before, but I was in a hurry...wait a minute.
One of the floorboards is lose, beneath it is a crossbow with two bolts.

>Check nightstand
JACLYN: Now what the hell is this?
In the drawer, Jaclyn finds a jar of...blood? There's a slight glow to the scarlet liquid inside. It looks like blood, and there's an iron smell to it, but there's something off about it...

Jaclyn can hear the house settle...she's sick of being here...

...but the twisted one that fell through the hole in the ceiling still is. The Conjoined Monstrosity surprises Jaclyn as it lands on top of her pinning her down. The rotting stench of death filling her nose, and the rattling gasps and growls from the monster break the silence of the small room.

JACLYN'S WILL IS TESTED... (WILL C: 50/50 CHANCE)
