It’s blank, obviously, this book has yet to be written. That’s why we’re here. Before we can write anything let us conceptualize the world this story will take place. Some may write their characters before the worldbuilding, but I say you can’t have an actor until you have a stage. So, take your quill and write, what kind of world will this be? If you’re so inclined you can even draw an image of it. A map perhaps? The creation of this world is in your hands.

Our world takes place in a small town. But what is interesting about the town is that every midnight, the entire town, as well as its inhabitants, teleports into a new location in the world. No one knows the exact reasoning why it does this.

This world is a dream shared among many people.
In here the dreamers often forget themselves and often assume forms and mannerisms different from their real selves.
Each dreamer unconsciously shape a portion of the landscape and the inhabitants (dreamed) of this area, but those people are also influenced by the nature of the other dreamers. As the dreamers awake the world becomes smaller and the personality traits they gift the inhabitants disappear causing changes of behaviour from many dreamed.
As a general rule neither dreamers or the dreamed understand this world is a dream. When the dreamers understand there is a fundamental difference between the natives and the outsiders many theories may come to make sense of it, but prejudice is a likely result.
Some dreamers may be terrible people, but even so the consequences of having them awake may be even worst.

A great ring surrounds it's parent star, it's practically infinite lands stretch beyond the horizon and allow all to view it's glory. Deep within, terrifying machines feed, defend, and maintain it with countless treasures from beyond, but the creators are... Absent. No one alive today could have built it, not in this age of sword and claw. Rising high above the tallest mountain, The Spire ascends to the heavens. It captures the brilliant light of The Crown, a palace of light sitting majesticly atop the gentle sun.
It is said that The Crown is the source of all magic.
It is said that whoever first climbs The Spire will be able to reach the Crown... And become a GOD.
But that is easier said than done, for the civilized lands exist on the opposite end of the ring. Endless expanses filled with terrible beasts, impassible mountains, great deserts, vast oceans, choking jungles, and savage barbarians await anyone foolish enough to stray to far from civilization.
Supposedly, the iron depths of the underworld possess methods of travel far beyond what the surface offers, but the steel demons cut down all who have dared try to find them.

You… want to write in braille? Interesting, though it is nice you wish to adapt your book for all likes of people to read.

High in the sky and in waiting, surrounding the sun is a ginormous ring, a sure fact of evidence that this world is not natural, but to its inhabitants, none the wiser, this is the status quo. The known world is centered around The Spire and rests upon a mountain. Class is divided among by your closeness to god, the lower you are down the mountain the less fortunate you’ll be, the more people you’ll see, the stronger the struggle. A daily struggle for millions is trying to climb higher, not only does the path get treacherous in a lot of locations, but there are also blockades built by people who demand pay. People vanish every day trying to climb beyond their birthplace and many more are gone in their vain attempts to reach the top. Some believe the way to the top is not to climb, rumors of a city that moves are spread thinly, but this city has not been seen in ages, some believe this city has already made its way to god. Not many know what lies at the very bottom of The Spire, except that it is not owned by any man or woman. It blocks the very light of the glorious sun, hidden from the rings of god, for it is a cursed place. Despite this there are claims that travellers have been seen climbing from the depths. The superstitious fear these travelers and rarely will ever give them any aid, let alone look at them. For those higher along The Spire they can see far into the skys at the lands beyond, though none would dare try to venture to these places, the surface is formidable and dark. Few scholars have said to have spotted more spires far from where they call home, but this is considered blasphemy. There is one Spire.

Excellent, a world of turmoil, conflict is the fuel for any good story and still hope lies at every corner. Now, let’s turn the page once more. We have more to write.

A world powered by perception. Everything is as it is perceived, and magnitude of power is relative to size- the largest bodies, those of The Sun, The Moon, The Earth, and The Stars preside over all.
With mind, body, and soul, the world's inhabitants manifest the abilities latent in their instruments, as believed by the masses; a broom evoker could use it to fly, for example. The exception lies in a bed, as sleep (and sheep by proxy) nullifies magic.

Ooooooooh I'm going to make some weeeeeeeeird sh*t, also beings 1,000x more powerful then Goku.

The Big Star Planet is a strange planet to say as least. With it's people the Star Peeps with their main purpose in life, be it though physical strength or technical power, nearly every SP wants one thing and one thing only. To get to the top of Big Star Mountain! This gigantic mountain has been the star of the SP's hopes of dreams for all of their race's existence. And with entering this new age of steam and discovering these new islands, they grow closer to it with each passing day under their red dwarf star and night under their moon.

[spoiler]They slaughtered our brothers and sisters, scattered their remains across the cosmos. Burned our ships and homes, and filled the ash covered bones with the very parasites we tried to exterminate. They murdered our mother...filled with her own unborn kin...and put a monument to their greatness next to her grave! A throne for her murderer in the sky! With her husbands torture chamber of a prison just under it!!! But fear not my brothers and sisters, for we were proven once again right on why the parasites should've been terminated. For they seek to get to the gate, and like the rodents they are of course they will want to open it. And we will stop being stillborn.

>We have more to write.

I guess we will be starting in the disappearing city and climbing the spire is a general goal but not necessarily the protagonist motivation.

Is the dream a thing? Is the entire know land the domain of a single dreamer or is this a tapestry created by many travellers?
The spire itself must be connected to one. What personality traits does this dreamer represent? Higher ambition?

What do the societies look like? They are more primitive than the impossible tech left behind, but how much?
Maybe we are in an antiquity like age. The cities are gigantic surrounded by fragile walls, and to conquer them massive armies are required. There are barbarian tribes that occasionally unite in purpose forming immense military forces, but usually just plunder the weakest elements of nearby empires. Merchants ships are also pirates, and business is sometimes hard to differentiate from robbery. There are so many architectonic wonders that at first glance you would be fooled into believing in civilization advancements, only to be reminded of how far they have to go by small things like the absence of soap or how new the concept of streets are.

What do the people look like?
Maybe there many bronze skin sailors with stern faces. Hairy small stature beasts that walk with two legs could be common everywhere you go. Mysterious tall and slender hooded figures could live discreetly here and there.

What about the wilds?
Do dragons dwell beneath the surface in the domains of chaos? Maybe there are things that are not entirely like bats nor corpses that move between dark places. And there could be massive beasts who feed on gigantic mushrooms and protect their territory with ferocity.
There is also things that were left forgotten but would not be called treasures by any sane individual? There are beings covered with chitin or crawling with tentacles that never stop calling this world theirs, no matter how long it's being since such claims were true.

The dreamers lie within each spire. The Spire of our ire shall be SUPERIORITY. The influence of this dream infects the minds of those around it and upon it’s mountaintop.

>>1014064
Technology is lost and considered magic, with how advanced it has progressed it may as well be magic. The very laws of physics are at odds with what can be done with artifacts of old. The dreamers have allowed perception to become reality, only the spires themselves are immune to change. Belief is the true source of power in this world.

The seas have become black and impassable, yet things still lurk beneath the surface in the dark. And yet maybe passage is still possible? Travelers rising from the sea prove that.

Our protagonist could be called Oneiro Hulm.

He would be a curious but shy small creature.
Physically he is a fluffy feline with black fur and green eyes, although on a more throughout assessment this may not be entirely correct. The vertical pupils are very characteristic of the elegant cats, but those eyes seem different somehow. It's unusual but not unheard of small ones developing a fur coat so dense and messy, but are those really fur or feathers? And beneath all of that, if we were able to see perhaps we could get a glimpse of what look like scales.

He is an avid reader, or at least he would be if he didn't have difficulty concentrating in written text for long periods of time. Few thing can keep him in one place for longer than pages full of mystery, but he rarely manage to finish his books.
His sense of wonder attract him to tall tales and lost secrets. His heart is easily moved by the most absurd of rumours, and even though the he is frightened by the mere stare of strangers he is willing to face his fears for the mere chance that those could be true.
You could say he is at least partially qualified as a scholar, and although too naive for such he may be optimistically called an investigator. Almost nothing can get him in contact with strangers if it doesn't involve his curiosities, but those emotions dominate him so much that he can be called experienced in the academic pursues.
His true talent however is to move unseen. Only natural for someone who dislike being observed, but the way he does it is unlike anything else. He may not even be aware but when he try to stay unnoticed he is hidden almost as if by magic.
