As with Operator quest, I have no artistic talent, no tablet pc, hell this computer fails so hard I don't even have paint. So I must warn you now. This quest will be primarily text based unless someone is willing to collaborate with me via the TGchan IRC where my handle is SupernovaStain or at the provided email address.

But I digress, let the session begin.

You've awoken in a dark room lit by a dingy yellow bulb. You can't remember much, but you think that your name is Gabriel. But you can't be too sure. You are currently laying on a bed that reeks of sweat and urine. To your right is a sink and a small toilet. In front of you is a door. It is heavy and made of metal, but you are pretty sure it is open. The bed is propped high above the floor and there are little holes in the concrete walls all over the room.

What do you do?

Epic attempt to get quest moving!

Sit up in bed and try to focus thoughts. Get out of bed and try to wash face before peeking head out of the door.
>>

Also, check under the bed for any useful items.

You turn the water on and it runs clear for a second then turns brown and disgusting. You dry swallow and wash your face hoping to god its just dirty. You still aren't sure who you are after focusing your thoughts, though you are sure your name is indeed Gabriel.

You proceed to look out the door. The hallway is dark. One or two fluorescent lights shine through the black. The walls are tiled and dingy off-white. There are a few gurneys tilted on their sides. You decide to head back inside for now. You have a nagging feeling you are missing something.

Checking under the bed you pull out a small box. You aren't sure at first whether or not you should open it. It could be important though. You set it to the side and continue to examine the darkness beneath the bed. A few insects scurry at your encroaching touch, but you find nothing else. It seems the box is it.

Experience dread then open the box and take useful items.

You are still wary, though you decide to listen to the little voice in your head and open the box. Dread washes over you as you look upon the items. Though they turn out to be ordinary items. You heave a sigh and pull the items out.

There is:

what appears to be a locket.

Gabriel pockets the objects and proceeds to check the room. He finds a few quid tucked away in a hole in the concrete. He pockets that as well. He heaves a sigh.

Nothing left in the room.

The locket holds nothing but a dingy picture Gabriel can't make out. Though he feels it has some form of importance.

Boost confidence with shoddy pep-talk. Piss pants, and walk out of the door.

You decide against the pants pissing, so you use the little toilet. However you give yourself the best damn pep talk ever. Or at least the best one you could think of. Then proceed to walk through the door. SOmething is different but you can't place it. One of the lights flicker. There are two paths down the hall. To your right and left. You can't see very far down the right, as the lights are out. Maybe it would be best to go down the left. Though you could always attempt the black.

You are besieged by a grue.

No just kidding. Gabriel walks down the left hallway, searching the area. It seems like at one point this was the reception center, though now the doors were blockaded by a mass of heavy looking debris. At the reception desk you see a filing cabinet, and a phone, as well as an assortment of pens and paperclips.

You take a pen and a handful of paperclips and shove them into your pockets. You pick up the receiver on the phone and try to dial a number. any number, then realize there is no dial tone. Further inspection reveals that the cord is frayed. Something ate through it. You try open the filing cabinet. Its filled with folders containing important numbers and info on the backers for the Hospital you are in. Its a mental hospital. Seems its called "Haven Oaks". Creepy name you decide. Further digging reveals another key, though this one is much more modern. You aren't sure what it goes to but it must be important. It seems there is nothing left here. Though you see a large wooden door hidden in an alcove near the reception desk. You think you hear voices coming from the other side.

You slink closer to the door, unsure of how silent you really are, everything seems so far away as you attempt to focus on the voices behind the door.

>"...ammit Charles, you know we can't keep them here forever."
>"I know, but at the moment we have no choice. The sect gave us specific instructions. The prisoners are to be separated and cared for until the harvest."

Uh oh.. Harvest... That doesn't sound too good. You continue to listen.

>"..ut Charles! You can't seriously think about going through with that archaic ritual. Damn the sect! Damn the prisoners! Damn the Ancient One. Lets just get the hell out of here while we can."
>"Wait Professor, we can work this out."

They seem to be coming closer to the door. Quick! What do I do?
>>
No. 16031 ID: 0d7c7c

Ancient one, huh?

inb4 Cthullu

Remember the name Charles, and the moniker "the professor." Hide under the desk ASAP. Remove the ink wells from a couple of the pens. May need to squirt in eyes of these two, if the wells are the right sort. Failing that, scream crazy man gibberish while pelvic thrusting at them. Then stab Charles in the neck with a pen. Leave the professor be, he seems against whatever is going on and we could use information.

You hide under the desk and hold your breath so as not to alarm the two to your presence. As you attempt to take apart the pens you silently curse as you realize these pens suck. One of them breaks completely, becoming quite useless, though you decide to keep the other for stabbing purposes.

You silently creep from your hiding place to discover the two men are gone. Though the door is wide open. Where they disappeared to you can't be certain. Looking into the room you see another filing cabinet a large wooden desk, an armchair, a computer and a menacing looking door with runes carved into it. What now?

access computer. If it has no gui, input command "help"

No. 16325 ID: 72ee5e

>>16273
The computer is locked by password, though it appears to be of a Windows operating system. XP to be accurate.

You shrug it off and look at the desk, scanning over memo's of medical nonsense. You can't even make out half of the writing but from what you can gather there are quite a few other patients here. You put the files back down and head back towards the center of the room, pacing and thinking about what to do next.
>>
No. 16353 ID: 0d7c7c

Two questions.
If it was Windows XP and password locked, how many accoutns were there and what were their names? Was their perhaps a guest account? (unlikely but exploitable.)

Also, go over the memos again, specifically for instances of the name "Gabriel" Attempt to peruse for important information any that we might find containing that name.

Failing these, observe the desk. Does it have any hidden compartments? Is there anything interesting in it? Does it have any locked drawers, and, if so, is our key applicable? Check also the armchair, under the cushion and under the chair. Do NOT sit in it.

tl;dr check everything trust nobody

You return to the computer and look at the log in screen again. Just one, it appears to be named Charles. It also appears that it is the professional version if that means anything.

You knock on the desk in several places searching for hidden compartments. Though not an hollow sound in earshot. It seems its a plain desk, not even any drawers. I guess in retrospect its more of a table.

Searching through the files on the table again you sigh heavily. You don't notice the name Gabriel at all. You even thoroughly examine the documents. All you see are patient dossiers. None of them are of importance though as they are all labeled deceased. There must be a file for living patients somewhere. Maybe in the filing cabinet?

Well seeing as how only one key will even possibly fit the lock ill try that.

Hey hot damn it worked. I'll just take a look through these files. SHIT WHAT WAS THAT?!Oh *exhale* it was just an air vent grate falling from the wall. Anyway, back to the filing cabinet. All but one drawer is empty and of the four two of them are covered in dust. The other one seems to have been cleared recently. The one that is full has a few unimportant documents but one caught my eye.

The name on the top says >Renault, Gabriel.
I'm french? Alright well then that's settled. I should take a look at it, no? It seems that I have paranoid schizophrenia, that explains you guys. Anyway I've been a patient here for two years but was in a coma until a week ago. I must still be suffering memory loss and blackouts...

*the sound of footsteps echoes through the hallway*

Oh shit. Voices in my head what do I do?

>"Yeah I talked to him. No I think it would be best to give him awhi- No I can't just terminate him. He's been my friend longer than I've worshiped the ancient one. How dare you question my faith and resolve. Alastair we will talk later, someone is in my office.

*Term Remembered: Alastair*

Shit only a few seconds. There is much urgency in the situation.
