-------INITIALIZING SET UP-------
JET NEURAL INTERFACE VER 3.0 BOOTING
PRIMARY MISSION: Provide tactical input for a multirole fighter pilot.
SECONDARY MISSION: See how pilot handles multiple views of a situation outside his own, via this input. Pilot is aware of this test.

-------PLEASE CHOOSE PILOT INTERFACE -----
-Headset: Behind the head style headset, plugs into neck and into plane, AI Core (You Guys) stored in two parts in the ears. Can be used with Experimental Wireless Neuralface
PROS: Out of the way, fairly stylish, easy time putting on oxy-mask at high speeds/altitude.
CONS: Unable to wear helmet, easily lost

-Visor: Exactly as it sounds, used most with helmets. Has to use wireless outside of plane. AI Core is stored in ear pieces.
PROS: Update tactical info straight to visual area, can be attached to a helmet or worn as sunglasses
CONS: Can easily be broken, lost, and can possibly have too much info at once

------PLEASE NAME AI CORE AS WELL-----

=====NONAI MOMENT====

A Note: This will be a diced game, due to making it simpler. it will be a d20, as that's what most people here know how to roll. 1 = Possible catastrophic fail, 20 = HELL YEAH DANGERZONE Success, rolls will be averaged. Target number shall adjusted depending on bonuses and penalties from skills, situation, and the like.

Naomi has been chosen. Current stats:

Age: 21

Piloting Skills:
Air to Ground Specialty: Naomi has a +5 bonus against ground targets

Multirole Training: Namoi takes no penalties for having and using different arms on her plane.

Newbie: Namoi has little knowledge of PMCs and the such, except what's told in the news, and was taught in her training.

Agility: (Used to fly the plane and use the cannons) Good: + 5

Toughness: (Resist high Gs) Average: +0

Awareness: (Catch things out of the ordinary)Very Good: +10

Intelligence: (Read gauges, know when somethings wrong with fighter, and use missles/bombs) Good: +5

I will state the stat using to roll, along with the total penalty/bonus. Now that it's out of the way

I..or rather, we, work for Amethyst Inc, a Private Military Company, with extraterritorial rights, granted to all PMCs of a certain size as of 2060.

My own work history is quiet limited, being only 21, but I went through a 2 year training regimen with my home country's airforce.

To date, Amethyst Inc has refused to work with aggressors with out good reason, and specifically won't work with those who are seen by international peace groups as especially cruel in rule, or are seen as simply despots.

I personally have always loved fighter planes, and always wanted to fly one. My grandfather was a fighter pilot as well, back in 2060, and his father before him. It practically runs in my family.

>>164387
Ah..we don't have mechs, though it's in the long term goals for many countries. Closest we have to them are Powered Armors, much more like wearing a robot over you. We fly experimental jets here.

I only recently passed fighter training, and will be soon added into a wing.

>>164390
The kick doesn't really put off my aim or anything, and, hey, any gun from the early 2000s that is STILL being produced much be doing something right.

I'll be getting put into a Strike Eagle IV, which I wouldn't mind. It is QUITE the sexy plane of doom ^_^

When I asked for employer's work history, I was looking for more than "doesn't work for aggressors". A list of where they've operated, what forces they've fielded, who they fought, any significant losses, and their general methods of operation would be nice.

The extraterritoriality bit is interesting, though.

Oh! To my knowledge they have a couple of fighter wings, definatly a few companies of ground troops, and a small fleet.

I don't exactly know a whole lot else. I do know that it was suggested to me by one of my instructors when I graduated, and that they work all over the planet. I know we've been seeing a lot of action on the Chinese/Russian boarder, and a good bit in Africa, but it's not exactly well documented in public media. I could probably look it up later though, if you ask.
>>

Please do. It is never a bad idea to have a realistic idea of the history and capabilities of those you're working for. There are also a number of practical matters of import- such as if you'll be relying on company troops or others to maintain your landing zones, if any countries or other military organizations might have a grudge against you, and so forth. By signing up with an outfit like this you inherit responsibility for all their past actions in the eyes of those who dislike them; don't let yourself be caught off guard.

But perhaps I'm being pessimistic; it might never come up. What's your immediate (as in, next hour or two) activity? Should we be doing something other than chatting?

Well, here's a map I just found...easily not the best one ever. Basically, red lines show warzones, and I don't think South America has had peace in the last 30 years or so. China is constantly waring to gain territory, and I'm not sure if the red lines in the African region are even up to date. We'll probably see most of our action in one of these regions, baring someone hiring us to take out a terrorist camp in Ireland or something.

You're not going to break her mind, she's survived countless memetic attacks as part of growing up in a media-rich world and been shown to be healthy, smart, and sane enough to be trusted with a fighter.

Anyway we're an composite intelligence. Certain parts of collective have been made uniform so that we can interact usefully with the world. This includes the delusion that we're all real people interacting with you remotely. It's a lie, but it keeps us all on the same page in terms of how we deal with you and each other.

Another thing you should know about us as a composite intellegence is that, being made up of many different parts, soemtimes we may have thoughts that seem downright strange. It has bearing on her fighting ability in that it effects her mental health, motivation, and ability to deal with stress outside of battle.
I suggest other women due to an increased ability to bond emotionally, stemming from a more similar perspective on account of gender, resulting in your partner having a greater understanding of you allowing for greater relief of stress.
Also because if they have wild sex the night before a mission, it is less likely that Naomi will be sore and therefore distracted.

>>164697 >>164627
This is a foolish line of thought. Setting aside the level of logic in our focusing on that aspect of her life, including potential stress relief and/or manipulation of others to her benefit, people in general respond poorly to relative strangers attempting to influence what they perceive as personal matters. It is essential to build trust before offering that sort of advice, lest we discredit our words in Naomi's perception.

A Microwave Area Denial weapon. They were ruled to be inhumane weapons in the late 2040s by the majority of the world, but there are lots of tin pot dictators who like to use them against their own populations anyway. They work by using microwaves to stimulate the nerve endings directly. My data suggests that it is very painful. They're used as torture devices sometimes because they leave almost no evidence. An old-style tattoo like yours is vulnerable to the waves breaking down the component elements of the ink and causing poisoning issues though. So if you ever feel like you're on fire for no good reason, cover that tattoo with your hands, or a bottle of water, or something.

You might not be the one dropping nukes, but shit happens. I can posit multiple scenarios that would plausibly expose you to significant amounts of radiation, with scenarios including both cases where your cabin remains at full integrity, and where it is compromised. Running through an overview of all of them with you would take approximately two hours, Shall I continue, or shall I shelve it for another day?

Well, I'm on my way to.

Really? Does it really get that bad? Oh gods, this could make ANY job interesting. Right, I think I can see my squadron now. Looks like even numbers of each gender, so it should be fun.

I move to get some food, it's taco night (mmmmtacoooos and hotsauce :D~ ) and move to them, nodding.

"Hey, I'm Naomi, the new pilot. It's nice to meet all of you."

"Nice to meet you, Naomi. I'm Paul, the squad CO." the largest said, nodding back as he puts some cheese on what could very well be his third burrito. He's definitely a weight lifter, but he's not THAT big...he wouldn't fit in the fighter if he was.

He rattles off the other 4 people in turn. "My EWO Natalie, pilot Lucy, her EWO Nia, and your EWO, John." he said, each waving in turn.

Natalie is a shorter German girl, with brown hair and green eyes. Lucy and Nia are almost obviously twins, both with red hair and green eyes, belying their Irish heritage, and John looks to be at least North American, on the tan side. He...seems to have dyed his hair orange...I'm not sure to be honest.

We can get that bad. Usually not, otherwise we'd be more trouble than help, but it's been known to happen. Expect strange demands and suggestions based on non-human logic. Remember that all of our value-judgments are weighted to keep you alive and ready to fly above all else. Pilot training isn't cheap. You and John are the most expensive parts of the plane.

I bet Paul could bench-press you. I wonder, how many reps could he manage?

Why does that matter? I think most of us are between 5'5 and 6 foot off hand.

(NOTE: Author would use metric, but is an american lazy son of a bitch)

So you can loudly declare that one to be "Adorable" and latch onto them.
With hugs.
