> Check with the office staff what the top ten list of crisis level things are that might wake up the boss, maybe get started on trying to deal with them.

"There's the 'Actual' 'the Family', its slow growing, and not hostile, but you said the serpent mentioned wanting them back in the Foundation View, and not here. And you said 'I should clean up my own messes'"

"Your calendar has the next conflict with the Strategist [A kind of Excrusian] Textrix the Deacon fated for next Sunday."

"You owe Cain the Power of Murder a big favor. He hasn't called it in yet, but you could ask?"

"The big boss warned you that a major attack against Plastic and Plauge was coming, but left it up to your discretion."
One of your human aides reads off a set of notes. You could keep it in your own mind, but having an out side record to check against means foes have to mess with two things.
"This was a personal matter, but the current time line has a minor nuclear war over inda break out. It will only directly destory a couple of cities..but it 'brings nukes back into war' you said, and raises a lot of dust that while offsetting global warming, also leads to significantly reduced crop yields and mass starvation. This is apparently 'penciled in' for next month."

"Oh, and you have a meeting with the Power of Fusion over letting humanity have Fusion Power Plants. She seemed Agreeable. You told us to expect her at 6 today."

That matches up with what you remember.

....Shit, I am a busy boy.

Well okay, what are the alignments of Plastic and Plague and do they need more than just warnings?
Get the supplies staff working on preparing the audience and the party favours for our thing with Textrix. It just wouldn't do for me not to be going in with both the advantage and the spike to convince him he's wasting his time punching out of his weight class by trying to fight me. Add communicating with the rest of my Light colleagues about this to the communications staff to-do list, I'm sure that with Textrix distracted by me there has to be at least one opportunity for my guys to score against his guys that opens up.
Send Cain a case of his favourite drink/snack/recreation along with a note that says, "I know I still owe you, but it would be nice if you didn't ask me out of the blue. Call me sometime."
As unintrusively as possible ask Fusion if she'd rather meet in my office, my house, or somewhere else.

I, uh, need to recall more about The Actual, The Family and what leads up to the Indian nuclear incident to decide what to do with those.

> Well okay, what are the alignments of Plastic and Plague and do they need more than just warnings?
[Note you are of Heaven, not the Light. They are usually more aligned then not, but still different. Think of Light like England and Heaven like the USA. But earth is Ireland in this analogy, so The Light and The Dark are most powerful factions here. but are also strictly local.]

Plague serves a Devil wholeheartedly. She/He is nasty, but honest. She/he is powerful and experienced so probably doesn't need the warning, but pays back her favors. And if she found out you could have warned her and didn't she might get vindictive.

Plastics was a powerful Noble, but got in a fight with his Imperator and was replaced by a 12 year old girl with an artificial heart. This would be the first major attack of her career. On the other hand, she will almost certainly never know you could have helped her if you dont, her death is 'penciled' in for a few days, its unclear what her boss would do after that.

Also its hard to tell what her personal leanings are, she hasn't really done anything drastic yet.

Her boss is a True God, though one who likes humanity.

The Family is a Actual that infects/consumes humans, very slowly. Its hosts wander the world as broken heroes, looking for the true love that they have lost, and take in those that need a parent or a partner.
One day though their love understands them, and in that moment loses their humanity, becoming a lost hero, and leaves. Basicly its a contagous form of tragic Bishonen ism. (though it can infect women and girls too)
You created it when you went back in time to save a young boy from death. It worked..but you let this..thing into the world of flesh, where it doesn't belong.
Paradoxes do that sort of thing.

Some sort of Terrorist Organization sets off 'dirty' bombs in India, right after a US operation in Pakistan screws the fuck up and kills a bunch of civilians.

While this is still not enough for India to intend to declare war on Pakistan, a triplet of Generals whose sons was killed manage to order a nuclear strike.

And its not until dozens or so bombs have fallen on each side that some measure of sanity is restored.

> By party favours I meant weaponry and tricks. I don't know enough about combat between inhumans in this world to know if a well-aimed cargo container full of C4 makes a good ranged weapon.

Eh. Its a start. Nobles/Excrusians take roughly two nuclear blasts, a bisecting sword strike (or a truck of c4), and three decent punches, or equivalent to be defeated. (though keep in mind, wounds can be things like "cursed to turn into a cat" or "is hiding the fact that he loves his mortal family")

We are almost immune to direct attack because of our ability to flicker through time. So the Strategist will have something clever up his sleeve.

We are basically on the level of Greek Gods.

Strategists tie themselves into reality by embracing a death. Some age as they use their magic, others starve, The Decon becomes more and more apathetic and uncaring, eventually sort of fading away back into unreality in a fuge of enui.

Because of this he hates true faith, people such as ourselves that have a _cause_ we care about.

The history there is... complicated as far as US involvement and such. One of the factors was that the US was worried about India's friendliness to the USSR during the Cold War. They supported Pakistan as a foil, and are alleged to have permitted and supported the Pakistani nuclear development program as part of this. Either way both nations have kept each other's finances and military committed against each other ever since the separation and have had numerous small conflicts and a couple larger armed conflicts in that time, with the single continuing issue throughout being the Pakistani belief that all of Kashmir should be Pakistani territory and Indian disagreement.
Much of the conflict has involved the Pakistani army and intelligence service recruiting primitive tribesmen who live where their federal government doesn't really reach. They give them weapons and bombs and then the tribesmen go have fun in India or smuggle weapons to the separatist Kashmiris or something. Once in a while these tribesmen succeed at this well enough to annoy India into threatening Pakistan and maybe shooting off a couple artillery strikes. There's lots more to it than that but that's the nutshell.

We're going to have to deport some CIA from Pakistan and locate where these dirty bombs came from... if my research division can get started working out a plan for that it'd be great.

Meeting Plastic:

"What further stirs that mess is the big conflict over the future of the world, which is mostly divided into four basic factions, with some subdivisions in those factions as well. The main divisions are: Those who want to destroy the world, those who wish to give it over to war, plague, pestilence, cancer and pain, those who seek to bring peace, justice and harmony to the world, and those who try to follow their own conscience and justice itself."

Then check that I've got hard-boiled eggs and make a tray of deviled eggs for when Fusion arrives, with a note, "Fusion will scorch you with the heat of the sun if you take her snack," and put that in my office fridge.
Then I'll start looking through my list of folks on the heavenly or light sides I'd trust to hand off the responsibility of training and recruiting the new Plastic.

Blades, Fishing, and Salt are the three Powers that pop to mind.
Blades and Salt, like you, seek to serve Heaven, and Fishing serves the Light.
All of them are kind, and dedicated, without being so focused as to be hard to talk too.
Salt can get a little judgmental at times, she has little room for selfishness and, well, petty humanness in the Powers around her, on the other hand she is one of the more subtle and skillful Nobles around.
>>
No. 405615 ID: 7d7f79

Check Plastic's death clock, and consider asking Fishing to do it since at this point Plastic really isn't much different from an innocent bystander herself. The powers that serve heaven itself are sometimes lacking in sympathy and that's a terrible trait for dealing with a scared twelve year old girl with the power of a primordial god behind her.

1. Is there a questdis for this?
2. Are you perchance a veteran from 4chan/tg? You seem to do rapidfire questing where essentially you do the first thing someone suggests. This is necessary there because threads get auto deleted after autosage. Here there is no autosage or thread deletion so voting is possible and most people think it prefereable to go with a consensus rather then first person who says something.
Of course, you don't have to, but I think it makes for better quests.
3. EDIT: This was the main reason for my post was asking WTF is going on and how can we be expected to understand what is going on.
But then someone saw my post and explained to me over IRC that this is apparently based on a PnP RPG called Nobilis. So if you are also clueless like I was, go read up about it and things will make more sense.

It looks like she might live out the week. Your getting somewhat confusing signals about it, which might be just be because Noble level fights can snag up time, or someone is going to do something 'clever' like suspend her in a timeless void, or throw her back in time, or de-age her/age her. Hell maybe she finds a way of sommoning her future self, that could cause the tangles you are seeing.

Bah, its a lot easier to do this with mortals.

You could just go and _see_ what happens, but then if you need to change it, it will create a paradox, and that risks letting in a Actual or Excrusian, and then thats even more work, and you can't get around to making the world better.

could we bring her future self to teach her current self the basics and help her defend herself against the attack without causing a paradox?
>>
No. 405798 ID: 7d7f79

Uh, most of her future self probability is less than a week older than this. I doubt she learned enough in that time. The less probable the future we drag from the more I'd be worried about paradox. Also, we also don't necessarily know why she survived that long either in that lesser probability so I'd be wary that we're pulling back a hell-affiliated or Excrusian version of her which might promptly kick us in the face.
Not a fan of that plan.

Just that it likes humanity, which I'm guessing is vague leanings in the direction of light, but it's a god so the teams thing is kind of outside the way he thinks.

Also, the pamphlet is things I already know so there's no worries about causality of knowledge discovery there, and we never did hash out whether we wrote it earlier or later. Teaching someone things I don't know is kind of scary paradox because even if the paradox itself doesn't let in Excrusians they may just feed me their version thanks to the opening caused by the paradox. That could be... bad.
>>
No. 406230 ID: 2a1ec3

You could just do the research then travel back in time. That won't cause paradox unless something unlucky happens as you are doing the research.
