For the sake of those unable or unwilling to log into MSPA, I'll be collecting suggestions for Highly Reactive in this channel. This is not a shameless attempt to get the ball rolling because nobody cares about a not-very-freeform quest thats stopped for over three years.

Honest.

Why would I lie?

Ugh, I hope it's a nuclear payload; then at least we wouldn't have to worry so much about the payload cooking off. Either way the biggest threat at the moment is a fuel explosion; even the largest conventional warhead pales in comparison to the destructive potential of the fuel used to launch it.

We need to find all heat sources in the base and neutralize them. 110C isn't hot enough to cook-off fuel, so if we can get things under control down here we can call in a large request for foam; all the bunker needs to do is ride out the fire without the missile getting too hot.

I mean, ideally we'd call in the military to extract the missile, but they don't strike me as all that competent. You can try, but don't wait on them.

ok the nuclear wast bunker, that's just a big hole they dump barrels of nuclear waste into right? Not sure how flammable that stuff is but I don't think it's to big of a worry unless it gets hot enough for the barrels to build up presser and explode.

I would have to say that helping evacuate the town would be high on our list but it sounds like they've got lot of people dealing with that already and plus Andrew isn't really the best when it comes to giving directions. Also if the grassland were to catch fire are there any towns or things that would be in the fires path or is it mostly barren land? Because if the fire were to spread to the grass lands and risk burning down other towns I say try to help there but if that's not an issue try to help the road side town.

the place is flooded with water. there is no fire. its keeping at 110C BECAUSE the water is soaking up the heat and boiling off. if the water fully evaporates it will get hotter.

Wingman is at the entrance. Wingman is not dead.
Ergo, the entrance is not where the heat is entering the facility.
There is no fire, but that doesn't mean there are no heat sources.

Current RAD count?
Can you stop scanning long enough to make contact on military bands to request permissions, information, and aid with respect to the classified hardware here? You should still have your security clearance, so that should cut through most of the red tape.

Maaaybe we should finish the job of tearing through this wall and decend instead of wasting ammo shooting at that thing.

Ok, people, I know this type of wait -- you think I locked you guys out. Since this thread isnt in character in the first place, I'm going to say this once.

Surprise me. All I did was to lock the obvious choices. Being able to walk into an ICBM, giving a full map of it on a silver platter, calling for help without leaving the silo, these are the obvious answers. They'd end the game too quickly.

One had the perfect idea, but I simply cant toss the entire foam tank without rhythm or confirmation. That one specifically is a too big decision I think, and I know how letting one big decision overrule all others does for the audience as a whole.

I am well aware this isnt Prequel, or Dungeon Game. HWC isnt about a powerless character against all odds, its about a powerful character when power doesnt help. And yet, nobody can stop you from tearing a building a new one. Just choose carefully, okay?

Also I'm never letting Naomi voluntarily step back again, this made writing the section nigh impossible.

...We could decend after that thing, at least. Probably a much easier shot with the foam as well.
Does anyone else here in /Quest/ know why we're chasing this thing? I can't tell if this is what we're looking for or if we should be going elsewhere right now. It IS shiny, but is it our goal?

Because it appears to be LIVING FIRE, which could be related to the fact that this place is super-heated in spite of having no actual fire present. If that doesn't scream "alien saboteur" I don't know what will.

Andrews: Is the thing that looks like living fire actually HOT? Tell us everything; what do your machine scanners see?
Is the other super-soldier in here dead or just disabled?

Could you fit through there if your foam canister were removed? You could remove it and then carry it with you without compromising functionality, right?
If not, then head to the surface and report this immediately - if a hostile being of unknown origin is trying to cook-off a missile then it is in the best interests of national security to scramble forces to prevent that exact occurrence.

>It IS shiny, but is it our goal?
I think the general idea is that a mysterious being skulking around inside a secret nuclear missile is a bad thing, especially when the only aliens we have heard of are ones the humans fought a war against. (I can't think of a way to ask with the second-person perspective, but I am curious whether this resembles those aliens.)

>Because it appears to be LIVING FIRE
...We have thermal vision. The area is hot in general, but our current theory is that he heat is coming from a specific thing (whether the creature or part of the nuke), so that should be substantially hotter than the surroundings.

>can you breathe underwater?
No; Andrews can't breathe anywhere.
