You are the recent inheritor of your late father's shoppe. As you had no job at the time, you gladly accepted the retail location, and the 500 gold pieces that came with it as initial budget.

Please decide your name, and the location of your father's store. It is possible to relocate later.

Name: Your first and last name. This won't really affect jack shit. But it's nice to have a name.

Current Location: This will affect the primary race of your clients and customers, though you'll still get a variety of races. Your location will also fill in the horrible blackness that currently surrounds you with a store from that location.

Possible Locations

Nilethia: An Elven forest town populated mostly by elves. Appearances by other races are rarer depending on the race in question. Wood is ABSOLUTELY not to be sold in this town, as the Elves will have a fit as they tend to do. Fancy products and items will sell better here. You will have to face Elves looking down on you a lot though. Elves are dicks.

HammerCavern: An underground Dwarven fortress which serves as a trade hub for several races. (NOT ELVES) Stone and metal craft, such as weapons, armor, and trinkets will sell better here. You will have to face Dwarves scrutinizing your crafts often.

Dumpyhorse: A human town, visited often by species of all races. Alcohol and food goods tend to sell better here. You will be generally accepted here easily, as you are a human. The name has no story. Nobody actually knows who decided to call it Dumpyhorse.

Rawgut: An Orc town inhabited by more monstrous races such as Orcs, Gnolls, etc. Has occasional Adventurer visitors of other races. Illegal businesses such as slave trades, drug trades, and black markets do better here. You will have to be more concerned with robberies here, unless you attain protection.

Tithli: A kobold village. You'd have to be really stupid to have a shop here, honestly. Customers will be rare, and those that come will mostly be Kobolds with no money because they're lazy stupid assholes. Things will sell about the same here overall. You will have to deal with lower customer rates here.

You look like a "Maurice Fabio" to me, and clearly the only place for someone as fabulous as Maurice Fabio is Rotgut. Go sell some slaves.

Your name is of course Maurice Fabio. And of course your father's shop was located in Rawgut!... For some reason. You're pretty sure your father died here actually. Huh.. In any case, it is time to choose where to invest your budget of 500 gold pieces, and which direction for your no doubt soon to be bustling shoppe to go. You will enter these routes by hiring Mercenaries to procure products for your shoppe. You can sell ANYTHING in Rawgut. It's pretty freeing. In other towns, you would be able to utilize trade routes, but none run through Rawgut. Only Mercenaries. The choice of who to hire is one you should make carefully, as the longer you have a merc under your employ, the more loyal they will become.. Or you could hire them on impulse.

Several COOL GRIZZLED MERCS stand around in your shoppe, having heeded the call for employment. Each of them go by a different rate... You can decide what your fantastic new mercs will do after hiring them. They can do a variety of things, such as capturing slaves, stealing goods, and murdering people. And other stuff if you want but that's your deal.

OGNAK THE... ORC: A strong, ruthless warrior orc. 500 Gp. Sometimes uses excessive force.

RANGY THE KOBOLD: A short, nearly useless kobold. 50 Gp. Is weak, cowardly, and bad at most things.

STANGY THE KOBOLD: A short, nearly useless kobold. 50 Gp. Is also weak, cowardly, and bad at most things... but something is... off about him.

KILNAR THE DROW: A dark elf of average height and strength. 200 gp. Supposedly has a long, drawn out backstory that you don't really care much about. He also talks A LOT.

FLETCHI THE GNOLL: A really really creepy Gnoll. He keeps commenting on how much he wants to fuck something. 200 gp. Is strong, but really really really horny. Is often sidetracked by libido.

Remember, you can save some money if you choose to, for later.

Clearly the superior option here is to hire everyone but the orc in the possibly foolish hope that despite everyone's many, many faults their strength of numbers will end up paying dividends.

Hire Fletchi and Stangy. Also that is not an Orc that is obviously a Namekian; tell him we don't hire illegal aliens here because we love our country/planet.

Stangy and Fletchy. Quests are more fun when in hard mode.
>>
No. 686134 ID: 8018ee

Stangy because one look at him tells you nobody fucks with him.

Fletchi because the best way to break a potential slave's spirit/will is with a savage Gnoll dicking.
>>
No. 686135 ID: dbb0f9

Well Kobolds are useless.
The Drow is annoying and average.
The Gnoll is unreliable and would require someone else to prevent us from getting shanked while hes distracted.

Excessive force is only an issue if he breaks your stuff lets go with the Nameki... Orc I mean Orc.
>>
No. 686137 ID: 0a1420

Ask the gnoll if he will accept his wage in the form of savage dickings. Offer the other mercenaries as a down payment. This is Rawgut, baby. Save that gold for merch.
>>

That orc looks peculiar... If you hire him, he might divide in two next month and in one year you could have up to 4096 Orcs hording under your command

Except that's racist and biology does not work that way.

Hire everyone else. That's capitalist.

Stangy might be dangerous, but if you gain his loyalty you might find an opportunity or seven.

You decide to hire Stangy the Kobold, because of his... mysterious aura. And Fletchi the Gnoll. You ask Fletchi if you can pay him in 'savage dickings', but the way you word it makes it sounds like you want to personally give him savage dickings. He tells you he's not gay, and that he's sure you'd find a nice man someday. Combining the costs of Stangy and Fletchi's prices, you are now down to 250 gold. You're certain you'll need it later. Fletchi gloats in the unhired mercenaries' general direction, while Stangy gives a short, heartfelt goodbye to his longtime friend Rangy. The ORC skulks away with the others. Continuing to be just an orc, and NOTHING. ELSE.

The two BADASS MERCS approach you after the others leave, and introduce themselves more formally. They ask you what you'd like each of them to do, both of them list what they're best at, but inform you that they can certainly do anything you want.

Fletchi's Skills: Stealth, Capturing, Tracking, Sex(WITH WOMEN. He includes). He can also play piano apparently, but he doesn't remember how he learned, or why. For years he has been searching for an opportunity to play a piano for a reason.

Stangy's Skills: Farming, Cleaning fish, Brutal Intimidation. He doesn't say much else. You can tell straight away that he is the strong, silent type..

We will need Stangy's brutal intimidation as we negotiate for acquiring goods with our last 250 gold. Send Fletchi out to raid other merchants passing through the area.

BADASS MERCS? More like LAMEASS JERKS! Git rekt (not you Stangy)

>>686149
We should hold off on raiding until later, we don't want to pick fights just yet, first impressions are important. If it's just Fletchi he's likely to either get caught or to keep much of the goods for himself.

We should go acquire some HIGH QUALITY GOODS with Stangy. Fletchi can stay here and get acquainted with the place, he can like, rub his ass on it or whatever the fuck gnolls do. We should acquire a couple of crossbows, or arabesques, or muskets, or wands of Kill That Asshole. Something easy to use with a lot of firepower to defend our shop with. Do either of our new employees own any weapons?

Take a walk around town to identify competitors. Have Stangy stare at them mercilessly when they try to sell something to a customer.
