Blinding white light fills your vision, before your eyes slowly adjust. Revealing you are laying in a battlefield, strewn with bodies as carrion feeders peck at the remains of the solders. Before you floats a great sphere, burning as if a small green sun... though the light from it is nowhere near such. It seems to notice your awakening. An odd voice beginning to come from it. Each word echoed by the whisper of the same in a thousand other tongues. "I see you are awake child of cold, I am Krazult, lord of the Katakula. I woke you to make you my champion, to bring the searing light to the savage kings of the north. In that name I shall bless you, so tell me...How shall I bless you?"

Basically what sort of character do you want to have? Just about anything that works in a fantasy setting is fine.

An undying body and strength beyond mortal man.

Some kind of powerful intelligent corporeal undead, basically is what I'm thinking. I would just say vampire, but drinking blood is a chore and kind of lame. The details aren't too important.

Magic is always fun, but the primary advantage over others should be physical. At first anyway, I don't know to what extent the plan is to grow capabilities down the line.

People usually like that sort of thing.

Being able to lay curses upon enemies is always nice. Nothing quite makes people listen to you like being able to go "do what I say or you will die, and all who love you will spit upon your grave" and have it go through. Blessing friends is also cool.

Put fates on others and have them come to pass, generally. Ourself would also be nice but that seems like it would lead to endlessly self-absorbed rounds of superfluous buffing.
>>
No. 688274 ID: ef2801

The ball of energy nods somehow. "First you are not hallucinating, I am a Katakula. Since you appear to be suffering from slight memory loss I will give a brief explaination... I am a god, that is all you need to know. Now what I am currently hearing is some form of undead that drains others of something to enhance or grant itself abilities. With a focus on strength in the beginning and other less earthly pursuits as a possibly later on?"

Because that sounds overpowered and thus boring, and the lack of evidence left over makes the whole thing entirely too easy to conceal from others which makes social interaction less interesting because of lessened consequences.

The ball of light hovers for a few more seconds before extending a tendril, pulling you around to face the carnage of the battle. "Well now that that is settled you must choose a body. We have several bodies in good enough condition to be usable. First we have a male, and a female Children of Tezle. These are essentially what you would refer to as elves, they are fond of nature and many worship the nature spirit Tezle. Next is half-men of many type and genders, so we will leave that for if you choose them. They are half animals that normally are golems for most purposes, the fact you would have free will would be quite the oddity. Oddly we also have a Shi'igon, this would be probably the oddest choice. While they normally look like giant bugs they are able to change their bodies to a rather drastic point. Meaning you could change yourself to be humanoid, now this ability to alter your physical traits comes with the issue that due to their psychic connection to eachother normally you will be a bit more vulnerable to mental effects. Lastly we have an Iron King... As distasteful as it is to use one of the northerners they do have some bonuses. They are strong and tough, as well as being quite good with mechanics and the like. There is quite a bit of cultural stigma around them due to their racism though. As well as the fact they hate Katakula and everything to do with them."

The ball of light shifts slightly before your vision splits. Suddenly several bodies in quite obviously different places of the battlefield fill your vision. All female half-men. The top left is a corgi female, top middle a lioness, top right a female pug. Middle left a lizard of some sort, middle snake, right a wolfess. Then on the bottom a bird, a tabby cat, and the right is black.
[color#006633] "Well the vote seems to be for female half-man. These are the options we have at our disposal. I figured I should show them to you before I just assumed that you wanted to be a corgi."

You announce your oddly overwhelming desire to be a female corgi, Krazult nods, again no idea how but he just does. Before white light once again washes over you...

You must now allot your points into various stats, these being;
Strength
Constitution
Dexterity
Intelligence
Wisdom
Charisma
Hunger=15 (Hunger starts at 15 automatically)
These stats act as they normally do in such games. Though hunger's name is misleading, it's actually your self control to keep yourself from going berserk when you do get hungry. It also serves the purpose of being a boost to other stats. As you may choose to take stats from it to temporarily give to other stats, though taking from it too much is obviously a poor choice.

Now as for abilities you currently have two though more will be added depending on stat allotment.
Soul steal: Just the basic feeding ability, has a 100% chance on unwary victims with a 70% chance on most others. Can be used in combat to create what amounts to a brain dead person. Each stolen soul then is moved into either your feed souls or your reserve souls.
Empower:You use a single reserve soul to allow you either two essentially critical actions. Or a plus 20 points to add to any of your stats for the rest of the encounter(Or five minutes out of combat.).

As for souls you have two different things you can do once you take them either your feed souls or reserve souls. Feed souls keep you (as the name might imply) fed. Each soul is worth about a week of life before you need more and they do stack. You also have your reserve souls which you use to activate your soul based abilities, such as empower. In an emergency you can use one as a feed soul but it only counts as two days worth of life.
Oh and you can gain non soul based abilities through training or other such exterior factors.
You have 80 points to allot(Plus the automatic 15 in hunger.), and two reserve souls. Any questions?

Good point, but in situations were sneaking up behind someone isn't viable, it will be necessary to be able to make people believe that we aren't a threat. We're already a corgi girl, so we have that going for us, but some charisma would do us good.

I'm not one for stat allotment, especially since we don't know what the baseline for average is (ten maybe?), but put me down as a vote for a charisma and dexterity focused build.

five is the average for someone who has never really put any effort into making something better. Ten is about the average for someone who trains it as a hobby of sorts or has a natural inclination. 15 is with some training, still a rookie but definitely noticeably good. 20 is a veteran. 25 is basically if you put your entire life into it, and so on.

When the whiteness leaves your eyes you find that you are laying on the ground. You are dressed in what seems to be cheap chainmail, there is blood and dirt caked into your soft glorious fur! But there are bigger problems, after a few seconds a face moves into view. It seems to be a Daughter of Tezle, her white hair drifting in a halo around her head, her green eyes filling your vision... and her ridiculously long ears drooping derpishly to the ground. She smile and waves a little at you. "Hi there girl! Now I know this must be confusing for you, but your master uh...gave you to me! Yeah he gave you to me! So you need to serve me now, understand? Good now mistress is being chased by some bad men, I need you to go kill them for me okay?" She glances around a few times fear a bit more evident on her face now that she isn't focused on you.

What shall you do?
Take the imperious wench's soul?
Obey her long enough to get to some form of civilization?
Just leave?
Something else all together?

You lean up and take the poor girl in an abrupt kiss, your much larger tongue easily slipping into her mouth due to a combination of strength and her being in too much shock to respond. The kiss lasts a scant few moments before she pushes you away. Blushing brightly and panting as a small string of saliva connecting your mouths breaks. Clutching her chest protectively she falls back staring at you.
"What the hell! What sort of servant were you? Who the hell gives their sex toy a god damned weapon. Stupid nobles can't keep it in their pants."

"What is in it for us if we kill these 'bad men'?"

"What...You're intelligent...?

You know what it doesn't matter right now! I am being chased by a gang cause I have something they want. If you take care of them for me then you can have whatever you want... Just not anything like ...that okay?"
She continues to blush brightly and glances around a few times, the sound of horses can be heard fairly clearly from down the road...

You nod and stand glancing around yourself a little. There is the road she came from on the east with the horses coming for you. To south is the pile of dead bodies/battle field you came from. To the west is what seems to be a ghost town, and lastly to the north is a forest. Turning your gaze to her you smile a little unintentionally showing off way more teeth than she is comfortable with.
"Okay we will do it, let's go hide somewhere."
She nods quickly before looking at your quizzically. "Okay, I'm dead if you fail anyway. Where do you want to hide though? It would probably be easier to get them to separate in the town, but the area would be more enclosed.

soul steal is silent and emits a bit of blue light when you take the soul. Also I really need to work on describing environments...

You nod and grab her arm, making a dash for the ghost town as the ever present sound of horses grows closer. You enter one of the houses still dragging the girl with you. You shut the door quickly as the noise grows to a cocophany... And then stops completely. Poking your head out a window you see several men in red uniforms climbing off their horses, one of them barks a few commands before they all split up and begin to move through the town. You duck back and glance around. The house is filled with the scent of mildew and cobwebs. A few moldy chairs and a table lay in the center on the tattered remains of a rug. There are stairs upstairs though they look like they might not support any weight. The girl is huddled in a corner looking terrified.

You tell the girl to hide under the stairs she nods robotically and sits under them, her knees pulled up to her chest. As you are about to walk out the door to go after the horses she calls out quietly
"Wait! My name is Genevieve. Remember that okay? You will need to know your mistress's name when we get to the city." You raise an eyebrow and nod before dashing to the horses. Planning to make full use of the chance to get more souls. You drain each horse without incident... Until the last one. Which unlike the others suddenly has large pieces of skin fall off as small blue fires burn in its eyesockets... New trait learned for soul steal there is an unknown chance that each time you steal a soul you will create a low level undead. As you stare at the horse curiously you hear one of the solders moving back, you only have a few seconds before he should be in view.

You make it just inside before the man rounds the corner. Catching sight of the horse with the dummy galloping away a short ways down the street before giving a loud yell. The man beginning to sprint after the horse as best he can, several more forms appearing out of side streets to give chase themselves. After a few more seconds They are out of sight and you feel a light tap on your shoulder before Guinevere speaks out.
"They are gone for now, but they will be back... they always come back. Do you want to try to escape or go after them? I found an old knife so I might be able to help."

"This, it's a magic core, quite hard to come by. They stole it from someone who contacted the people I work for, they decided it would be a good first job...assholes. You're right though we should go."
The two of you rise quickly, Guinevere leads you back the way she came before making a sidetrack into the forest. Finally slowing after you are a half mile or so from the road.
