-7:20 early morning... last shots were fired few hours ago, 3rd and 5th branches of mad legion fallen back to northen ridges of "Korath Edge". regrouping and preparing full front assault at noon.

[a week have passed since -conqueress squad- was back in the feild. so far we mostly took hits at illithian supply convoys under direct orders from commander Bishop. sadly there was nothing new concerning Frankie and mysterious enemy, but im pretty sure sooner or later, they will make their presence known. Bishop gave orders to split from the main forces and await further instructions.]

[i took libery to enforce our crew with hired gun for this mission. considering what's coming we would need more firepower.]

Who did Jackie hire?

A) Fuse - pyro/explosives
B) Vi - heavy/cqc
C) Saint - sniper/recon

No. 736152 ID: 908ead

So what are you a flanking attack to back up the main assault?

Lefty, systems check. How's Conqueress looking?

Oh, second post didn't show.
Hire Saint. Both those skills look handy for the current mission.
>>
No. 736154 ID: 358228

Saint makes the most sense to have brought on hit and run attacks with a tank.

VI

Isn't Shelly our scout? Would she be on this mission or is she tied up with legal stuff after the fiasco in thread 2?

Anyway, might not be logical, but I'm going to say Vi.

We already did Fuse once already so...

Aw, I wanted Quicksand but she isn't even an option this time. I guess Saint fills the same role, but.

Vi. Did you get her upgrades?

Take Saint now

We'll take Vi and her brother next time.

C).

[This hired-gun goes by the nickname "Saint" not a lot known about him prior to becoming GnR's merc. Some tell stories oh him being part of some black-ops unit during the shikadi war, some tell about him being a infamous bounty hunter from outer sectors, real far frontier stuff...]

[Shelly could pick up a thing or two from a real pro... that's a plus.]

>So what are you a flanking attack to back up the main assault?
[nah... from what bishop told so far we have to do something far removed from the main action. i hope it still involves blowing up some illithian squid heads.]

[until he contacts us we are to keep this position.]

>Get some cards to burn the time or something.

-Jackie suggest to play cards to spend some time
-Saint refuses the offer and remain on his vantage point.
-Time spent playing with your team enforces the warbonds.
-Jackie lost big time... she now ows each member of the team free round of drinks at the base.

-just as the Jackie was about throw a fear like a sore looser... incoming transmission was recived on holo-comm.

-as Jackie opened channel mug high-commander appeared in thin air.
Bishop: come in Zeta squad... are you there commander Jaxx?
Jackie: loud and clear. so what's the deal Bishop? it's better be something more important than all out war just a few clicks to the north.
Bishop: belive me it is... we have VIP recovery and extraction.
Jackie: WHAT? you could have sent anyone to do that!!! we can't waste our time with one dude when hundreds of colonosts are dying as we speak?
Bishop: it's not about the person in question... it's about what he knows. this intel must never fall into hands of our enemies.
Jackie: why couldn't we be briefed on this from the start? what with all the secrecy.
Bishop: in light current events high command decided that our own intel network cannot be trusted, for all we know even higher lines of communications might be already compromised. importance of this mission escalated to S rank.

Bishop: VIP in question is dr.Rudolf Ripper one of the lead scientists of project Re-Volver.
Jackie: should i know what it is?
Bishop: top secret.
[shit.]
Bishop: to avoid any leaks of his wereabouts he was put "off the grid" by my personal squad. he contacted me few days ago though secure channel and informed me of his intentions to visit Korath IV. he will "smuggled" on world. i uploaded coordinates of area where his ship would land in a few hours. is mission clear?
Jackie: rendezvous with VIP, get him to base.
Bishop: he must never be captured by the enemy, alive... is that clear?
>>
No. 736434 ID: b2d501

"Got it. Permission to kill anyone in our way?"

Try to capture him alive, but put a thermal detonator on him just to be safe.

>Jackie lost big time... she now ows each member of the team free round of drinks at the base.
Well it's good for morale to have the boss buying drinks when the team's earned it anyways.

>Bishop: in light current events high command decided that our own intel network cannot be trusted, for all we know even higher lines of communications might be already compromised.
So... instead of briefing the team in person, bypassing comm security at all, or giving them a hard copy of sealed orders to be opened and destroyed on site... you opted to give out sensitive mission details over long range comms?

I wouldn't question this logic to his face, but that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

>Bishop: he must never be captured by the enemy, alive... is that clear?
So in an absolute worst case situation where we can't otherwise prevent his capture, we're supposed to kill him ourselves, is what you're saying.

We're only pretending to be his rescue. We're his jailers.

>"Got it. Permission to kill anyone in our way?"
Bishop: we are at war soldier. everything and everyone standing in way of completing your mission is enemy.

>>736471
[we've been in the feild for about a week now. i would guess this "mission" came up rather recently. but breifing us over long range comms... even encripted channels would not be safe at this point. what is he thinking?]

>So in an absolute worst case situation where we can't otherwise prevent his capture, we're supposed to kill him ourselves, is what you're saying.
Bishop: his intel is too valuable... he's better of dead than captured. we have no right to let morals dictate our actions. you got it?
Jackie: yes... sir.

-at the half point to the drop zone.

Lefty hands over a map of drop zone. "so here is the situation boss, we have a ravine surrounded by ridges on both sides." she points at two blue markings on the map. "this here can be a good vantage point for our scouts. taking both of them will give us advantage in case squidheads will try "box" us inside the ravine. thou it might be better to have them move in pair to cover each other, rather then spearding ourselfs a bit thin." her fingers moves to the blue circle. "here is approximate area where ours VIP drop-capsule will land. in worst case cenario it will land in the deeper gulch.

Jackie marks down a couple of routes on the map. "Conquress can take ether right or the left path down into the ravine. route A will be more narrow at the start and we won't have ability to manuver there, but a little be down the path it widens significantly. route B is more consistent in it's width. and we can always go on foot, leaving Conqueress and Lefty to cover the entrance."

Scouts:
1) Speard out (taking points A and B)
2) Co-op (taking ether point A or B)
3) Other
Tank:
1) Route A
2) Route B
3) Route C (on foot. Conqueress in rearguard)
4) Other

Jackie checks the watch. "we have a few minutes before drop ship will enter atmosphere."

I'd say take point A to check if route A is safe, and take route B otherwise.

Keep Conqueress at the fork with Lefty as cavalry. Scout on peak A, rest of squad climb the ridge in the centre of the two ravines. Wherever the pod lands in that area, Either the scout can head downhill to them while the squad covers them from the ridge, or vice versa, then continue down into the ravine and meet up with Conqueress.
>>

go on foot down route A together with lefty and the tank as back up (or to quickly grab the VIP in the off chance he somehow does fall in route B) since A is more likely to have him drop in. hopefully those narrow paths at the beginning will give our snipers some easy targets.

This sounds like a pretty safe plan.
>>

Scouts, spread out. We'll take route C since the drop zone is so close.
