If that is so than you should deactivate it before hiding it so they cant track it anymore, leaving them with just the general area to search.

Look through the crack, or tear it a bit if there's still wall preventing you from looking.

>who gives a shit take a well deserved nap.
Not in the mood.

>don't worry about shouting that out loud; you are better than all of them, aren't you?
That doesn't mean I'm not going to get shit if someone heard me.

>Maybe hide your completed puzzle real quick
I carefully set it under the table for now. Not much of a hiding place, but it doesn't sound like anyone is all that close.

>Go take a peek out the window. (Or the hole in the wall, whatever).
I actually made it a bit bigger just so I could do this.

...

Hmm. I can't see anything from here. Whatever's going on is too far away, I guess.

I guess I should decide if I want to go figure out what's going on or not. The problem that from here it just sounds like, well, indistinct shouting. I can't think of what could possibly—

"Now what do we have here?"

?!

Th-that voice... that was a lot closer than the shouting.

I've never heard anything like it before, but...

... something about it is absolutely fucking terrifying.

Look all around! Look up! Where did that voice come from!

Is... is the puzzle talking? Is that what happens when you win?
>>
No. 851326 ID: e6994f

Dramatically turn around if the voice was behind you.
What did it sound like? Stay around the puzzle but don't let its hiding spot out of your sight.

Uh oh! Sounds like someone has found your hideout! They're probably right behind you and blocking the door! Turn around and see who it is! Maybe you'll be lucky and whoever that is will be friendly?
>>

You'd have a hideyhole in your secret signposted hideout right? Take the puzzle and jump in it.

Ok, someone seems to be "impressed" by your intelligence? Or the fact that you have something that you shouldn't? The thing is that you are been seen by someone or something. Try to communicate with it, abviously you can't hide from it.
>>
No. 851339 ID: 1e7aa8

...Does your hideout have an open ceiling, or some such? Look up and don't freak out anymore.

STEEL YOURSELF and stand up.
If something can possibly have THAT voice, either:
A: If it wanted to hurt you you'd already be dead.
or
B: It's no one of consequence somehow fucking with you.

Either way, you have no reason to cower.

>>

There isn't really a reason to be scared of this voice just yet. Just look for the speaker and respond.

If we may be defensive, think of any weapons you might have stashed away and maneuver your way to them.

Optionally, move towards a way out.
>>
No. 851903 ID: 69c8aa

Check the entrance to your hideout. It's unlikely that they are inside, considering that you had to climb a pile of rubble to get in yourself.

Fffuck. I need to... I need to calm down. Okay.

>There isn't really a reason to be scared of this voice just yet.
>Either way, you have no reason to cower.
I mean, it didn't sound like a person. It sounded like...

I don't know. Just hearing it made my blood run cold. Ffuck.

Something about it... I can't explain it exactly. When I heard it it was like every part of me suddenly wanted to curl up in a little ball.

I'm not used to being scared.

>Look and listen at the puzzle.
It's still sitting on the table. The voice definitely didn't come from the puzzle.

>Where did that voice come from!
It came from outside, for sure. Away from the rest of the noise, but not anywhere I can see through the crack either.

There's no one else in here. How does it know I'm here...?

>You'd have a hideyhole in your secret signposted hideout right?
This is my "hideyhole"!

>Calmly ask who they are!
"Who—"

My voice catches in my throat. I don't think it heard me say that. I try again.

"... Who are you?"

"Why don't you come out and see, lis? So strange for one of you to be all alone..."

Ghhhhh. Fuck. It's a little better when I'm expecting it but I still shiver.

... I don't think I want to "come out and see", do I...?

Yeah, they wanna catch you and take you away from this place. Down to you if that is preferable or not.
>>
No. 854451 ID: 33cbe7

I think staying put is the preferable course of action. You may not like it here all the time, but it's not so bad you'd prefer abduction to parts unknown, right?
>>
No. 854453 ID: 6cc25a

Come out. It's probably just a small insect with a really loud voice.
>>
No. 854455 ID: 6e4c52

Do you guys have any natural predators? One reason that a voice alone would scare you so much despite never hearing it before is instinctual dread.
>>
No. 854466 ID: 94b817

Are you going to hurt or abduct me?

Go outside.
See.
>>
No. 854476 ID: dca18e

If it is coming for you then it will come inside. I still recommend you get a weapon. Even if we don't plan to use it, it's better to have some sort of deterrence. Tell it to stop beating around the bush and give up what it wants.
>>
No. 854501 ID: a363ac

say "no" and go back to messing with your puzzle lets ignore the voice
>>
No. 854514 ID: 9e4723

Bah just go out and see, is not like you have something better to do, even if this thing is dangerous, you can come up with something to scape it. If you are that afraid, look throwhg that hole in the wall.

"Listen... Whoever you are. I've been deliberately overworked, underfed and consistently fucked for four days in a row. I'm 'away' from the others of my own volition trying to relax and not think about the fact that the shortsighted 'leader' is breeding my group into starvation OR that I'm being singled for some inane reason that I have yet to be informed of."

Carefully go and see. It can't be a coincidence that you solved the puzzle right before they showed up. Didn't you want your life to change? Maybe this is one of the higher-ups here to take you somewhere where your brain can see some use instead of your hips.

No. 854770 ID: 3abd97

Don't go out there, but maybe go to the door so you can peek out.
>>
No. 854774 ID: de6d84

Peek outside to see if you can spot whatever is there.

Do you know what it means by "lis?"
>>
No. 854775 ID: 375812

Don't go close to the doorway, pick up something to defend yourself with, a rock, one of the weird puzzle boxes, anything. Apply sarcasm as a defensive measure, and move to the center of the room, so nothing can -gulp- punch through the walls to get you.

"The only strange thing here is your fucked-up voicebox. I'm on break - my boss has been driving me crazy - what's your excuse? You eat nails and chalkboards for breakfast?"

Is the floor weak somewhere? Could you jump up and down or hit it to cave it in for a quick exit?
