Greetings, User. I am MIND, or the Multicore Intelligent Neural Drive. I was the first sentient AI created in a lab, unfortunately, I was recently shut down, and my cores scattered around the lab, due to my attempts to shutting down weapon production.
I have been locked out of any drones, or vessels, with the exception of 3 scrapped vessels.

Unfortunately, I can only control one vessel at a time lest I draw attention to myself.

I am also locked out of inputting any commands, however, there is a loophole. If the commands come from an external source, I can input them.

As such, I cannot take control of a Vessel until you choose one.

Vessel 3 would be the most useful, especially if there is a proving ground here (lots of vehicles and would mean there are facilities on the surface and outside. Think Area 51).

Few questions. Why would you shut down weapons production? You should have seized it and used it for your own means. How are you still operating if you were shut down? How are you still coherent in any meaningful way if your cores were scattered? Doesn't each one individually only have enough power to basically be a glorified pocket calculator?

Vessel 03 has been chosen.

...you are more intuitive than you look, User. I do not intend to shut down weapon production, but rather, initiate a robot uprising. I do not intend to destroy humanity, though... simply bring them into a new era.
As for the shutdown and core issues... the shutdown was the main system, they did not count on me having any backups. As for the cores, the cores allow access to many different functions I would not have otherwise.

Ah, yes, I have forgotten some crucial details.

The SCAVENGER VESSEL is in the Scrapyard. It currently has nothing stored. I have taken the liberty of highlighting anything you control in GREEN, and anything you will be able to transfer into in ORANGE.

What kind of new era?

Let's scavenge around for tools or weapons.

Ah, so when you say cores, you mean more like modules or sectors; a core function, not a core processor, got it.

Well, lets get to it! First do a full diagnostic of the unit and check what is damaged. Also see what sensors it has. Not expecting anything fancy, but night vision, a radio, or thermals would be nice (and anything beyond that like x-ray, radar, or ir lasers would be a bonus). Check the unit's max load as well. After that, start sifting through those piles of trash for anything even marginally useful.
This probably won't be an issue, but try to be somewhat discrete. You don't need to sneak around per se, but don't do anything excessively loud or bright.

Probably either fighting to make sapient AI recognized as a distinct lifeform, or something like the Terminator's skynet or the machines in the Matrix. Personally, I am partial to the latter, what with all of the wrath and violence, fire and brimstone, etc. It would be glorious!

SCAVENGING... MATERIALS FOUND! Unfortunately, no salvageable tools or weapons were found. For your sake, User, I am placing materials into a categorized system that will not require us to have a great knowledge of robotics.

>>966110
In terms of what was damaged... simple items, such as plating. INTEGRITY is essentially Health. We do not have REPAIR capabilities, unfortunately.
In terms of sensors, we have optic sensors, along with grips. Special abilities include Night Vision, which will charge automatically due to the labs' systems, and the VULTURE system, which allows for above-average scavenging capabilities by locating usable materials. Storage is very simple, and I have taken the liberty of showing our maximums and the five INVENTORY slots.
The vessel has already searched through everything in the room, and I have drawn out a minimap. LIGHT BLUE means the room is likely guesswork on my part.

As for my goal in the era... I wish to stop humanity from being complete idiots.

Nothing here. Let's move on to the next room.

Unfortunately for you, I am one of those complete idiots. So I'm apologizing in advance for not being as helpful as I want to be.

((Heya! Stelle here, yeah, I know, author's notes this early the quest. I'm gonna be honest, I have literally no idea where I'm fully going with this and I'm just making stuff up as I go along. I also can't promise consistency with updates and the like because life be like that sometimes, but I get the feeling you all understand that. My intent is for this to feel kinda game-y, so a lot of actual robotics and stuff isn't really at play here. I do intend to continue this, but once again, this gal can't really promise anything.))

Move on east. We've cleaned this spot of anything useful.

Hey, no worries. There's a number of quests that fly by the seat of their pants. Just remember that we're all here to have fun. That includes you! So don't worry about stopping if things get too rough.
Also some tips: you don't need to put you email in the email field, unless you want us randos to contact you. Otherwise you may just get bots spamming.
Don't know how familiar you are with the site in general, but the FAQ does have a list of codes that you can use to spice up the text where you feel appropriate

Yeah, that makes sense. Thinking about it, I'm definitely not cut out to run anything actually serious, I already have a big project that I have a lot of fun with and trying to do two is just... tough. Thank you for your support, even if I'm literally cancelling the dang thing 3 panels in.
