Preface: Second time making a quest, first time posting it. Expect some ineptitude. Hopefully I'll be able to get the hang of things fairly quickly however, and you guys will enjoy this random little product of my boredom. This particular chapter is a little prelude to the plot line I have planned, and borrows heavily from WeaverQuest. The idea of the players (you) making the world for the quest to play out in was almost too good to pass up.

All that said, let the quest begin.

[CHAPTER END]

Yah. A bit short, I know. But this is just the prelude, remember.

At any rate, this gives me an opportunity to A: Go to sleep, and B: Explain some stuff.

In this quest I intend to give you guys a large amount of control over the development of the world. But to prevent things getting out of hand, you'll require certain essences to create certain objects. Without essences, our as-of-yet-unnamed protagonist will be unable to create anything more than simple, inanimate objects (Like rocks). Essences can be gained via interacting with already made objects, such as smashing a rock to produce Destruction essence, which could then be used to make a star. However, keep in mind that you can't simply smash rocks forever, as each repetition of an action will gain less and less essence, till the amount gained is negligible.

Creation of our Universe will begin next chapter. Feel free to think up whatever you like for then.

Since I might not have a chance later I will suggest here now.

Start by creating two megaplanet sized rocks and smash those together at near light speed for a massive bang and hopefully a large amount of destructive essensce. Use that to create several stars with life potential, it's class F that's best for terrestial life right?

Besides, it wouldn't fit with the plot/backstory I've got planned out.

make a super massive rock, so big that it's own gravity almost turns it into a black hole. then throw a pebble at it to force it to undergo total collapse. if that doesn't get you a billion points of destruction then i don't know what will.
>>
No. 172117 ID: fe0817

Create several rocks. If the rule of gravity works here, the rocks will slowly drift into each other over time and form a body. Enough rocks with heavy elements and eventually you get a sun. Big bang is not really necessary as it only scatter rocks.

Or we can go the extremely inefficent method of converting energy to matter...

OR since you can create matter, just creat some matter that is already hot as hell (should feel more squirmy to you on account to heightened energy state) and apply it to something flammable, another thing you can make (Perhaps a lake of oil to provide light for the whole of creation? A vast bubbling sea of primordial oil, perpetually burning at the base of existence, providing light from below.

Smoke gets pooled on top of biggest rock, start making a soot planet, plant stuff in soot, tadah, evolution takes over.

So... Something like this? Weight isn't too much of an issue, due to the lack of gravity here. And we won't have to worry about the flint and steel being held firmly, because I can form the rock around them, if I concentrate. But that still leaves some problems.

The longer I make the rock-tongs, the safer I am, but the harder it will be to move the tongs, and make them scrape against each other. We need to either invent something to help me maneuver them, or get the perfect balance of length and not-burning-and-screaming-and-pain.

Could make yourself unflamable rock armor. This is something I never considered before. Probably still best to be further away, you'd need eyeholes to see what you're doing, and eyes burn.

But yeah, that's pretty much my idea right there.

So, protective armor, and a balance of safety and control, I think would work well. I could probably come up with something else given enough time, but I would need to draw it. And my drawing skills are pretty limited.

Sulfur. You're burning sulfur. I hope you don't have a nose.

Anyway, back up a significant distance from the sulfur, make a long rock, and small spheres of pure phosphorous. Phosphorus burns very hot and does not tend to explode, so you can light those spheres with your flint and steel, then use your rock bat to knock the burning spheres towards the sulfur rock, taking pot shots until you hit it.

You also might want to figure out how to make some solid oxygen and solid nitrogen. They should sublimate quickly (and become very cold!). You may not need to breathe, but concentrations of oxygen and nitrogen will let you regulate how hot and fast a flame burns. More oxygen = hotter, faster. More nitrogen = slower, cooler.

From the looks of the symbol, it's probably electricity. Try putting the mystery essence into one iron rock, and putting another iron rock close to the first one.

You can make water pretty easy with basic essence. Just make some Hydrogen rocks and some Oxygen rocks, like you did with Sulfur, and when they boil away ignite the mixed gases. It'll make a huge explosive fwoop, and what's leftover is water!

Making life, however, is... not very easy. I hope you don't eat hamburgers because if so you're going to be awfully hungry for the next 5 billion years.

*Gulps down the last bit of burger*
Ahh... That's the stuff.

>>188930
You may not have heard me too well through the munching, but I don't think that it's Cheeseburger Essence. On the grounds that essences simply do not work like that.

>>188933
Mmmm, well, both the planet and the sun are fairly dense, made of iron and... burning... stuff... respectively. The statue is mostly just rock, however. I'd have to either figure out a way to make it more dense, or make a new moon entirely from scratch.
>>
No. 189071 ID: 0b2a05

Well you don't wanna mess with your sun or planet, try compacting your statue, making it smaller?
>>
No. 189075 ID: 1ac39d

maybe that odd one is transform? you were hungrey so you were thinking about food when you used it on the rock. try turning your statue into pure lead. or gold if you want to be fancy.

But... that would break my statue! I'd rather mess around with the planet, because I can make another one of those pretty easily.

>>189075

Transform essence, huh? That might actually be right. I mean, I -was- hungry. And it -was- a cheeseburger. Hmm.

Should I use my remaining Mystery Essence on the statue?

yes, and think of it looking the same but made of solid gold.

that would be too much of a waste.

do it thinking in the primordial soup right after setting water on the planet.

Hmm. We made Mystery and Destruction from blowing up that big chunk of sulfur right?

I wonder if it was because we combined two different types of materials and then did something with them? As in, with the fuse and stuff.

Make a whole lot of random types of rocks and mush them together then set them on fire or something!
>>
No. 189774 ID: 1ac39d

no no no. we will do ultra chemistry by putting a solid block of oxygen and a solid block of hydrogen on the planet. it will then turn to a gas in the light of the sun and combine into water.

You have a little... cheeseburger on the side of your mouth. I'd say go with making atmosphere for you planet. If you can manage it.

>>189776
Huh? Oh, thanks.

>>189767
Uh, I can just make gold with Basic, I think. I mean, its similar to iron, right? And I can do that. The hard part would be making it fit around the statue.

>>189771
I'd need to get water first. And I have no idea what primordial soup looks like.

I could probably do bacon-and-pea-soup.

>>189774
Oooooh, that could work. If I could make either of those. I could probably use the Mystery Essence (We need to pick a name for it) to change a rock into those, but I have no idea what either of them look like. And we're still not sure what Mystery Essence actually does, besides making delicious fatty foods.

>>189773
Hmm. Seems pretty likely. Random rock-firing time, then?
>>
No. 193069 ID: 6a5a08

Mystery Essence is Mystery Essence. It is whatever you need it to be. Perfect explanation, no?

Now, we must begin making this world made out of food. If need be, make more Mystery Essence with another Giga-Sulfur-Bomb.

Huh. I didn't think of it like that.

Well, then, on to planetary cheeseburgers?

[New Stat system. It should be pretty familiar to most of you. :P For those wondering why, say, Str would be useful to a gaseous world creator/cheeseburger lover, well, you'll just have to see. Note that rather than exp and attribute boosts every 4 levels or so, attributes may be risen with proper training. Also note that the attribute scores themselves are pretty useless, I'm rolling everything off the mods. If the new menu is too hard too see/read, gimmi a kick up the arse and I'll think up something better.]

[I have no imagination. Roll a d100, first roll is used. Roll a d(however many options there are, +1 for any options you wish to suggest). Again, first roll is used.

Note: Species is picked randomly from the orginal races of Slater's homeworld. Objects may result in the creation of artifacts, which can do interesting things. Timer for Quest change is in updates. GUI, feel free to submit your own, otherwise I'll just see what I can make. System change means changing from the current D20 based system.Ignore n= in overlap, typo.]

[Reason for this: I haven't slept in two days and can't brain. Although I have the majority of theplot planned -before- Slater ended up in the void, have little after this point.

Go ahead and break my quest. :D]

[Uh. You kinda... rolled a d3 there. When there's two choices. Also, I'll post with pictures from now on. :P]

>>195753
[Actually, I was kinda hoping for a quest change. Had something planned for it. Anyway, looks like its System Change.]

[We're currently running off a d20 based system. As part of the system change effect, you may...

Add "Knowledge": This will allow the spending of 50% of a non-basic essence in order to recieve a information page about it, outlining its capabilities, possible sources, and allowing the essence's use with Essence-compatible artifacts which may be found. Knowledge pages on subjects such as how abilities affect things, different races, and history may also be unlocked via spending 20% of each currently attained essence, though some may be restricted depending on Slater's Memory percentage.

Reroll: Redistribute Slater's ability points as you see fit. You will have 30 points. It costs 1 point per attribute up to 14, 2 points for 15-16, 3 for 17-18, and 4 for 19-20. No attribute may be below 8, but 0-8 costs no points. Note that these 30 points mean whatever you choose, Slater is likely to have more points in every attribute than he currently does. (As right now he's only used 18 points.)

Feats: Anyone familiar with the newer versions of the d20 system should know what these are. Think up a feat, if it's reasonable, it's added to Slater. (Something like "Strong mind: Slater's sanity is no longer decreasing while in the void, and he takes half penalty from sanity degrading effects.") Note that durations are measured in updates and chapters, rather than rounds, turns, days, etc.

Spell Bar: Slater gains a quickbar at the bottom of the screen. Essence actions may be placed or removed from the bar at any time, though they take one update to be useable. These actions require only half the essence usually required, and need no preparation time.

COMPLETE SYSTEM OVERHAUL: Suggest your own system! Pretty self explanitory, really.

Note that should this concequence board reappear in the future, effects may interact. Eg, you could take SpellBar now, and then get a "Spells from spellbar cost 10% less essence after cost is halved" feat.]

Feat - Self-Determination

Slater becomes immune to compulsions.

Or

Feat - Memory Lock

Slater's memory stays intact through processes that would degrade it.

Feats... how about "Efficient Construction: Slater uses 25% less Essence."?

If not that, I like that "Strong mind: Slater's sanity is no longer decreasing while in the void, and he takes half penalty from sanity degrading effects." thing.
