Several days have passed.

Baod now has a makeshift bed made of soft grasses, and with Mirage's hunting skills, plenty to eat. They have gone on daily patrols of Mirage's newly expanded territory, and seen Kyat'tor rebuild itself and reorganize.

Baod isn't very good at roaring, and turned down any offers of 'roaring lessons' from Mirage.

But the good news is, today is special.

It has a lion's tail. Is this perhaps Stalks-in-Shadows, or a cub of his? If so, it looks either like it's plating dead, or injured.

Also the seedy bar appears to have turned into a bush.

Before Mirage can fully greet the small thing with a short verbal cue, it leaps onto his nose, startling him.

It doesn't hurt at all, of course. His scales are tougher than tiny claws.

Well... you could always knock it off with your wing or something. Though that's liable to kill it. I'd say put your head back down and let it be, it's not like it could hurt you.

Unless you think it might have poison or something, I guess, but even then it's unlikely to be able to get through your scales.

Also, I don't think this is really the author. My suspicion lies in that the ID is different, and the servants haven't been updated.

Meanwhile...

Though it feels like an eternity, only a few moments have passed since the door was opened to reveal some strange creature hiding in the gloom of the seedy establishment. Baod retrieves a knife out of somewhere, carved from a large Beast fang.

Aeora is obviously surprised, more by the weapon than her predicament. "Where did you get that?"

"Isn't there something more important to be worried about?" Baod faces down...whatever this might be. He can just barely make out the outline of it.

The creature slowly walks into the dim light. Aeora gasps with recognition. It is a Gyaaru, one of the sacred guardian spirits from her homeland. Any Tumyu child knows that these creatures look after the well-being of the Tumyu and their close relatives, carry messages, and patrol the many lands. Reshishi, of course, do not fall under 'close relative of the Tumyu'.

Baod attempts communication, and is met with a strange response.

"I have a message for you, Lawbreaker." Baod flinches, for reasons unknown. "Do you care to hear it? Or will you slit my throat with that blade of yours? I'm sure you're more than capable, though you have been neglecting your martial skills."
