... I think that's been long enough.

Now, that's nothing on you guys, seriously; it's great here. Just sort of floating around, bathing in the whole psychic collective semi-subconscious... thing. Just feeling that connection. But that's just it, you know? It's too nice. You could stay here forever, not do anything, like a drone. I want more.

I'm gonna be somebody. Too many of us, we just grow quick, work for the good of the species, live comfortably, die, come back here and then go out again; even most sentients are happy to stay quiet. Half the people who know about us think we're a full-on hivemind! No, I'm going to do something big, be a player - I'm gonna spread my name right across the galaxy. No, three galaxies!

But first I have to be born.

"Doobie physiology is a little puzzling, but she seems fine; she grew her arm back and wouldn't hear of resting until she started repaying us for the trouble. I think she's helping Lorn prepare the bridge for repressurization."

She chuckles softly.
"We'll have plenty of that soon enough."

"To forestall another question - I woke up during your fight with our unknown psychic friend. I think it had to focus to try fight back, and that may have pulled some of its pressure off me. Or perhaps it was when you sent it running."

"No idea. That's not my department - but I know it's one of the things Mitrel is worrying about. At least we don't seem to be under attack just yet, and I assume we'll be setting up some sort of defense against further intruders."

>Ask if anyone else was able to wake up as well, and if the security officer guy ever came back.

"All us sentients are awake; the drones are still asleep. Well, actually, Muun can't count as awake right now. Bit of a story behind that. Apparently the poor boy had some sort of vision, and it drove him to try and strand us here. Shiia shot him, and stuck him in one of the escape pods' stasis fields. I'm going to have trouble getting him out."

"Kole isn't back. Knowing him, he's probably off on some grand adventure already!"

"Well! Mitrel is sleeping over there. Lorn is getting started on putting things back in shape... Ferram is in a bad condition, but I have a hope of regeneration for his legs, eventually. Shiia is working with the computers, Muun is in stasis as I mentioned, Kole is away, I'm here in front of you and you... are doing quite well! "The ship's in a bad condition. I conferred with Lorn, and as far as we can figure, we could fly in this state… but with only two engines running, we've barely enough power to pull free of the station, let alone push past light speed. We also have the problem that, although we can fix the cloak, we'd so slow that the cannons on the asteroid could shoot us down by guesswork without any trouble. We're not going anywhere with those things still aimed at us, and we still need to fix up the three engines that are repairable now if we want to get anywhere."

"Speaking of getting places, we have enough food and water to last us for weeks yet, but most of our fuel was lost with the engines - we don't have enough to get to anywhere we could refuel, even if we could navigate there with the main computer out. As it is, we'd probably fall apart before we got there anyway; the ship's got two giant holes in it, there's no life support in the forward section, there's radiation leaks in what's left of the rear engine, we've lost two shield nodes… it, it's just a mess. I'm sure we can fix everything enough to get out of here, but we need more Engineering, Mechanical and Computer parts if we're going to do that, as well as the Fuel. And of course we still need to disable those cannons. The only way we can accomplish those goals is by going onto the station… And I think that needs to be your job, Maolla."

"You're one of our best fighters, you know what we need, and your engineering expertise will help you navigate. You'd also find it easier to persuade Kole to come back, if you can find him, and most important of all… you're the one with the native psychic connection that lets you resist the
mysterious presence that seems to have this place in its grip."

Well, fuck.

Still, you've taken care of the ship, and you've been a great member of the crew, so… I've been saving this for you. I was going to give it to you when we got back to port, but it seems you'll need it more now. Here."

You need to synch with everyone first. Native connection or not, it would be foolish not to give everyone else as much protection as possible before you go suicidally haring off into a hostile station. After all, if you don't then they're even more screwed after you get killed.

Aside from that, well. If that's what has to be done, it has to be done. If you can bring a drone or two and some equipment for psychic boosting, healing, and fighting, it could give you a decent chance. Also, you'll need whatever information you've got on the terrain outside- if you've got any sort of scans at all they could give you a good idea of where to start, and any likely points of entry are rather important.

We get the skills in order. We'd have to level up five times and pour them all into Psychoportation in order to get that skill.

I am inclined to further specialize in telekinesis, on the grounds that it's a very flexible tool which can grant offense, defense, and increased mobility. Pouring more power into it seems highly useful in the dangerous times to come.

All the other powers that we could unlock would bring useful utility, but not to the point that we'd get a serious increase in sheer power.

lvl 2 Telepathy will most likely also let us control more drones at a longer range. which is why i think syncing with mitrel is a good idea. his very high lvl telepathy would let him wake a ton of the buggers up, and have them scurry all over the ship.
second place vote for me goes for Clairsentience will keep you from being able to be snuck up on by who knows what on that thing.

also if you see a raw Psykonium while in the station grab some handfuls to just snack on while walking around, may take longer to be any use but just eat it slow and steady... actually that is the only good reason to have clothes on right now, POCKETS, big ole pockets to carry stuff around with.

Considering that raw psykonium is mostly iron with psitrons or whatever inside its atomic structure we could just refine the iron until it has a high concentration of psitron-bearing atoms, powder it and react it with fumaric acid
to produce iron psychic power supplements.
Assuming that psitron-bearing elements behave the same way chemically as they do without it this could be a relatively safe way to adsorb psykonium.

No. 280511 ID: 2eac65

Our two current powers, telekinesis and psychokinesis, are similar in both name and function. They both serve to exert force on the world around us. Improving either would be redundant. Instead, we should choose a force multiplier.

Thus, I choose Telepathy. My first choice would have been Clairsentience, because information is vital when exploring unknown territory, but it would be more immediately useful to improve our ability to battle our telepathic foe, and would help us take advantage of Maolla's unique psychic connection.

Ideally, we can get an Ulkam drone to help us.

Clairsentience.

Good gracious. Remember to thank Mitrel, Maolla. He's a credit to his ship.

Clairsentience, definitely. We're looking for a Mysterious Presence, and for a Buttload of Various Parts. It'd help to have a handle what's around you.

Psycholocation could be really invaluable in maximizing Maolla's gains of Parts Found, and avoiding getting ambushed, perhaps even aiding her in finding the Mysterious Presence.

I say Clairsentience. Even though getting the next level in Telekinesis and/or Psykokinesis would greatly improve our fighting ability (and therefore defensive ability), I think the second level of Clairsentience would be even more helpful in combat as well as outside combat. We can always get another level (eventually) in one of the other areas later, but I think Clairsentience would help most in our immediate situation of going into a strange, unknown location. Plus, being more aware of our surroundings will always be helpful forever.

Keep in mind also that various powers can be combined, but we don't know much of anything about that right now and it's not nearly as important as the primary function we gain from a single power.

>At her current level, Maolla's psycholocation reaches to a radius of 4 yards.
