>"Well then gentlemen, let us begin.

An old man standing in the center of a platform clears his throat.

>"We come together here today to call upon the powers of our father to do what He once did long ago, the process of creating life. Let it be known that our goal is to create a creature capable of combat, as we have lost many of our men in the lower floors and must bring something new into the fold.

He pauses for a moment.

>"We believe we are capable of dealing with this threat, however casualties will be higher then they should be. At this point we need as many able hands as possible to complete our goals."

>"It is for that reason that we come to you today. Please forgive us of our failures, and grant us the strength to see the new dawn rise."

First of all, we must decide on a creature composition. Be that more MONSTROUS or HUMANOID in nature, either can be vital to our combative victories.

[MONSTROUS] - - - [HUMANOID]

MONSTROUS, but not too much.
Should be Technique based with power to back it up.

hmmm, MONSTROUS often is large and powerful, while HUMANOID often is small and quick.

i'll say that humanoid is best bet at this time.

I think we should be MONSTROUS but not too much. Add enough humanoid in the mix so that we can more easily sympathize with our more normal-looking brethren.

Ah, something seems to be forming. The power that is pulling it together is erratic, but contains a hint of formality. Something monstrous, but something we can recognize in form.

Akin to this ideal, we must decide on its born defense. Will it have NATURAL weapons, like those of claws or jagged teeth. Or will it be ADAPTIVE, allowing it to better use human technology and other man made weapons. Or adversely, will it use your mighty ENERGY to manipulate the power in the air?

I was rather hoping for something tiny, fast-breeding, fast, and extremely venomous, actually. Possibly also that can walk on walls and with adaptive camouflage. The sort of thing that makes people dread walking into unfamiliar rooms.

Open discussion is perfectly fine gentlemen, we are after all, creating a new life.

Now, I see the energies are coming together. It is adapting nicely to our world. It seems to have an air of power and that of natural instinct. This may give it the edge it needs.

Onward then, the next step is decide whether the creature be DEFENSIVE or REFLEXIVE. Some would argue that being able to withstand a hit is paramount, but others would say that the ability to avoid it entirely is useful. The choice here will also decide its physical size.

A good martial artist isn't one that has the endurance to take several strikes, it's one that doesn't have the the necessity to do so. I don't see why it wouldn't apply to a creature that we're producing.

Reflexive.

Interesting. A balance between defense and reflex, but with a little more leaning towards defense. This will give the creature very few glaring weaknesses for a foe to take advantage of.

At this time, we are able to give a specific boost to one of its characteristics. This will allow the creature to capitalize on that aspect, even if it is a secondary trait.

[MONSTROUS/NATURAL] Becomes more beastly, and has more use of its natural physical weapons.

[HUMANOID/ADAPTIVE] Becomes more humanoid, and gains understanding of some human technology.

[ENERGY] Enhances the creatures natural attunement to its creator.

[DEFENSIVE] Enhances natural armor extensively.

[REFLEXIVE] Enhances natural reflexes extensively.

Energy! Excellent! It will find itself in more control of its unnatural abilities, much of which we anticipate to see in its fullest power.

Let me recap on what we are basically creating:

So far, this looks to me a somewhat monstrous creature of adaptive quality. It is versatile in both defense and reflex. It also has a powerful boost to its energy.

Now, before we move on, I wish to ask if there is any specific trait we should look into? If nothing, then we will continue and let the natural course of things decide on those aspects.

I am a great supporter of stealthiness and venom/acid of some kind, or possibly some other sort of major secondary effect depending upon what this creature is being designed to combat. For situations where mere physical might cannot suffice, a deadly neurotoxin can provide victory. And unseen is unhurt.

Interesting ideas. We will see what can be done.

We are now nearing the end of the creation process. Afterward, we will begin tempering this beast into the killing machine we need it to be.

However, we have one final detail to get out of the way. There are various attunements that relate to Energy, but are strong in all aspects of creation. The knowledge of what each aspect does is lost to us, but each is incredibly powerful in their own right. No matter what is chosen, it will increase the capabilities of all of it's characteristics tenfold, but will bring into play various skills and abilities that are unique to each one.

Choose wisely, but know that each aspect is incredibly powerful.

Life! Excellect choice. Your decisions are wise, and your power strong.

It is with this that we end the ceremony. I shall leave the rest to your divine providence, as anything seen or heard in this room during the process can change the final product. The creation process from this point on is incredibly malleable, and we do not wish to sully it by mortal hands.

This means you can hide in a fully lit room if you find some shade. Other then that, being a bitch to kill is all else you got."

And making a new form?

>"As a child of life, which I assume you are seeing as shadow shades are its domain, you have the natural ability of choosing your own form. A full shadow shade lacks the strength to tear a man in half, so I suggest something else for combat."

And how would I go about choosing a new form?

>"I don't know, I'm not the shade. I would assume you could discuss various types of parts, like scythe claws to rip someones arm off or less important things like digitigrade legs. Or, if you're really into it, you could probably post a sketch of ideas on some sort of image board."

What if we were to spread ourselves thin, completely invisable, and our thin form will strangle the life out of anything?

But we should make another form, one a tornado of blades, of rending limbs, of twisting knives.

And another almost human, solid, to use all the human's armors and weapons before our first form infects them with our Energy.

Looking good. Paralytic poison should work nicely. It's potency is a bit lacking at the moment though.

>"Looks like you've got a good start. You can at any time change your appearance, however the strength of what you have grows the longer you have it, so changing an arm in the middle of combat would make a weak blade. You can also revert back to a shadow shade, should the situation call for it."

If this guy's causing so much trouble he's probably well-trained and well-equipped. We do not want to get in a melee fight (where his training would give him a fair chance) and he would just take cover behind the ladder if we fired from the walkway. Firing from above would likely put a bullet through our face. Sniping him as he comes up would probably work, but only for one or two shots. Hmmm. It would help to know how skilled you are in a fight, and we could use a better idea of the area around you (especially above/below you).

I don't know how good in a fight I am, I've never been in one in my life! A lot of things have seemed natural to me though, so I think I should do fine.

Now let's see. . . Below the platform I am on is what looks like a 80 yard drop with nothing in the way besides the occasional small pipe. Above me is a catwalk, where I think I see Ire. The ladder goes up another 40 yards to the top where a hatch is, and behind me is a ladder that just goes up to the catwalk above.

And then that platform over there looks over the whole area, but is a bit exposed.

I can hide behind the pillar the ladder is on, or also in front of the pillar next to me where I should be invisible in the shade its making.

You did, of course, create your stinger so that it can shoot venom even when not actually stabbing someone. Just in case you wanted to spray paralytic venom on something. Do that now.

If that's not feasible, have your tentacles grab and fire your weapon while the rest of you charges and carves him up.

Charon, now is the time to reveal the weakness of the male of the human species. You see, there is an organ that lies between the legs that has elicits a very strong pain response when trauma is applied. You should try to exploit this by applying trauma via one of your free limbs. This should stun or distract him, allowing you to press the advantage, provided that it isn't protected as well as the rest of his body.

tl;dr, Kick 'em in the balls.

Since it looks like his arms are now occupied, continue to grapple and hit him repeatedly with your stinger. You don't have to win the grapple as long as you pump him full of poison and don't take too much damage while losing.

Also, you have additional limbs, meaning that even aside from your stinger you should be able to punch him and/or steal and utilize his weaponry even whilst grappling him.

What do you want?

WHAT DO I WANT? I WANT BLOOD. BLOOD OF THE ONES WHO COMMAND YOU. THEY HAVE TAKEN FROM ME A GREAT DEAL AND I WISH TO SEE THEM AND THEIR FALSE GODS SHATTERED.

And what do you want from me?

I WANT YOU TO DO AS YOU WISH. TO NO LONGER BE A PUPPET OF THOSE INFERIOR TO YOURSELF.

IRE IS A FOOL TO HAVE DOUBTED YOU. HE DOES NOT SEE THE STRENGTH YOU POSSESS. AS A TOKEN OF GOOD WILL, I MAY ANSWER A QUESTION THAT YOU THINK TO ASK.

Well then, what is--

WITHIN REASON.

Hehe. . .

What is this place?
Who runs it?
Who is this Commando Bob dude?
>>
No. 239819 ID: f0dfe8

ask why those who created you and those that Bob *point to bob* is working for are fighting.

Yeah I think we're only going to get one question thoroughly answered here. Make it a good one!

My recommendation is: "Where can I find reliable allies"

It's subtle, but let's replace "reliable" with "trustworthy".

So. . . What is this place?

THIS IS A SPACE SHIP BUILT ON LIES.

Who's in charge?

THE HAND THAT COMMANDS THE MASSES.

Who's this guy?

THAT WOULD BE JOHN. HE HAS BE ASSISTING ME UNTIL RECENTLY.

Er, and where can I find re. . . Trustworthy allies?

TRUSTWORTHY ALLIES YOU SAY?

He seems to ponder his answer for a few seconds.

I WOULDN'T KNOW. THE CLOSEST ALLIES YOU HAVE ARE ONLY YOUR ALLIES BY ASSOCIATION. BUT THEY MAY TURN ON YOU SHOULD IT PROVE TO THEIR BENEFIT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU MAY FIND SOMEONE LIKE JOHN HERE, BUT MORTALS ARE A LOT MORE FRAGILE THAN YOU OR I.

Oh. . .

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE?

What is the nature of this conflict? Its reason? Why must I fight, what are the stakes?

What is the nature of this conflict? It's reason?

I BELIEVE THE INHABITANTS OF THIS SHIP SEEK TO BECOME GODS THEMSELVES. A TASK THAT WILL END IN OUR DESTRUCTION.

Why must I fight?

YOU FIGHT BECAUSE YOU WERE MADE TO FIGHT. BUT DO YOU HAVE TO FIGHT? THAT IS YOUR DECISION.

What are the stakes?

EVERYTHING.

He picks up Ire and examines his limp corpse.

I DO BELIEVE MY TIME HERE IS DONE. I WILL LEAVE YOU TO MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES, BUT I WILL BE WATCHING, LIFE.

Just as suddenly as he appeared, he's gone. The body of Ire falls to the ground with a loud thud, then all is quiet.

Eeh, something about him creeped me out. . .

I reach into Commando Bob, or as that thing called it, "John."

Hey, I feel like I've done this before! Let's see, bunch of dudes in cloaks. Whats with everyone wearing a cloak these days?

Aha! There he is, right in the middle! The only one without a cloak!

Pull him into the corpse. Then repair his body while you keep his soul tied to it.

Watch out for what? Oh, that!

I don't think anything here can see or sense my presence, nor if they could, could they really do anything about me.

I could could do what I came here to do, and grab John over there, or try and talk to that large creature type thing over here, though about what I do not know.

Ask that thing what it is and why it's lurking around in this realm of Life (or Death).

Offer to put it in John's body along with John. Should be good.
>>
No. 240616 ID: c59f60

no no no. messing with strange creature in a different realm is not a good idea. grab john and leave. try not to let it notice you.

Quietly grab John. Only speak to the monster if it speaks to you.

If we can do both, let's talk to the thing. Ask it who they are, what it did before it died. Otherwise just grab John.
