Nah, we Silirw just don't have trouble finding mates. We can ask anyone of our species and as long as they don't have something better to do, they'll accept. We don't have telepaths. Enials like me do have a sense for the current feelings of nearby Cyrals and Enials. It doesn't work with many other species. Dessen is a telepathic creature from another space. It doesn't use words. We simply perceive what it wants to convey. With you, I can hear synthesised voices.

Narus has 3 brains. One is for motion, one is for sensory input, and one is for cognition/memory.
Don't be so impatient. You're on the cross-section scanner now.

"Ok, I'm pretty confident it's hyperdimensional, the way the inside keeps shifting. Since we can carry it, It must have some mechanism to offset the extra mass... I don't know what it's made of. Looks like mundane materials. I think it's built to change shape. I'd like to know where it came from."

Narus speaks. "It was in my mail in a box that disappeared."

"That sounds worrisome."

Whoah. What was that? Did he feel it? I think so. I'll ask.
"Did you feel the magnetism shift just now?"

"A little bit, I think."

The device is called a Scanning Plate, it is a cross-section delimiter, an additional designation of '3d' which I can imagine means it's a 3-dimensional object... and it weighs about 2 kilograms. That's all we get.

There seems to be some kind of inner program that tells us things sometimes. Like, there was a visual error earlier, and it gives us additional language translation when something doesn't quite match with words we have available. Maybe it's the program inside the device?

If you don't want us to grab information from stuff without permission, I guess that's okay. We're just curious... or that's what usually the case anyway. You can never tell for sure what with all the voices involved here.

One of the earlest problems encountered in our history was how to count. It may seem simple, but remember that there are more ways to count than we can

count. At the earliest times, the Enials counted on their fingers. When it came time for the Cyrals, there was a problem- a different number of fingers on

each hand! The common ancestor, we now know, had 2 digits to its 6 limbs. In the precursor-Cyrals, the middle limb split along the middle, joining with the

two beside it. ...

The bone structure is one of the most differing parts of Cyral and Enial anatomies. Cyral bones are more numberous, less flexible, and plate-based. Enial

bones are fewer, quite flexible, and more rounded. The Enials, of course, also have wings, which require additional structures near the base of the skull to

attach. In both, the brains are encased with several openings for blood flow and transmission of information. The heart is also encased similarly. The

gonads, which are held internally, have protective bones which prevent entry of foreign objects from certain angles. ...

Presently we know alien life forms exist. Probably no one is alive today who was alive before we knew this; it's become a fact of life. Thanks to the Cramakc, our first contact, we are part of an enormous intergalactic community! Our naturally helpful tendencies left us well-equipped to work things out between their representatives and ours. It wasn't all smooth going, though...

When the Cramakc came in their vessels, no one knew what to expect. They had tried to send transmissions, but something blocked them. Surveillance equipment

saw them coming and we prepared for the worst, while hoping for the best. The government had already picked its finest minds in the fields of theoretical

Hyperdimensional matter. How do you discover it? From the looks of things, the best answer seems to be that you don't, unless it comes to you. And you had better be careful if it does. Many of the predictions came true: it can have effectively infinite mass, for example. Lucky for us, the first matter of this sort had finite mass, was in space, and had a seeming resistance to spassitudinal motion. It was the remnants of a vessel, most likely from our own universe. ...

You're asking me how we can tell?

I have no idea. I told you I know about as much about this frigging shape changing trans-dimensional whatever it is as you do.

If I knew how we can see from the third person, or change the viewpoint, I would. I just know we can do that. I know that you can send us images with your mind, like a telepathic image transmission, and show us things from your viewpoint. I think we might be able to send you stuff too, but i'm not sure.

It appears to be a plural scanner, which scans an area and counts the number of individual objects there. Works best with mostly one kind of object.

>>114672
It's like a big monocular with reality augmenting features. There are no weapons here.
What's an... abacus? Where are you looking?

>>114692
Mmm, ok. I'll start with the green thing. It's a two-way communication device. Fairly inexpensive.
The monocular is also not too expensive.
The ocular implant doesn't come with the monitor there, and can't be installed here. I do not think I could afford it right now, but if I owned one that I

wasn't using already I could afford the installation.
Next is a laser pointer. It's the least expensive thing in this list.
Then the next 3 things are programmable light fixtures. Not too costly.
In the next row here, there's a sash with size-adjustable pockets that will keep track of some informations about their contents. It isn't as expensive as

the ocular implant but I don't know that I could afford it.
Then the plural scanner. Also pretty inexpensive, because it's bulky and isn't top-of-the-line.
There's a nice multitool. It has a compass (just in case, I guess?), global position tracking, a receiver for some types of transmissions, a thing to set

things on fire, and some other stuff. I think I could barely purchase it.
Last thing in my view here is this thing that you put on your arm and fingers, and when you touch something it will record some data and tell you about it.

I'd say its costliness is about medium here.

The food was less expensive than just about anything here. I don't think I could tell you my exact amount of funds in a meaningful way.
Narus looks around some more
Mm. Any other questione before we go?

We're there, so nah.

I guess I'm pretty weird compared to a shapeshifting voices-thing. Hrm! That is not a nose. I don't have a nose! The 4 rearmost things sticking out of my neck are for breathing though. I can smell with those. Cute again! Is cute good??

"Fseghf"-You're a crazy voice!
...
I saw some spaceships outside, and there will be some inside too. There are also teleporters directly to other [[locations such as planets or space stations]]. I suppose we COULD ride in a spaceship, even one with window. That's like, more of an undertaking though. It is also less expensive than a teleporter. Maybe a short trip somewhere, if you really want to...

I'm not sure that I like you very much, new voice! Those are my ears. I said the rearmost 4 are for breathing, not the ones closest to my face.
Yeah, schedule... Here...
I don't want to go to some places, and since I just got here I'll have to like, get through security and everything so some of the ships are leaving too soon for me. I don't want to wait too long either. That should only leave a few options, so I'm trying to show you only those ones. Is it working?

With teleportation the only thing to limit 'speed' is the amount of energy available... But you have to know where to teleport. Meeting you in person would really be something! Maybe even a little too crazy. I can't pilot a ship or anything though so I don't think that would work.
I'm not all that into biology... Plus, at this point, I've seen enough strange creatures that I don't think yours would surprise me!

So. Merso's pretty. Wur's pretty in a different way. More pristine. The space stations aren't that pretty but they have multicultural stuff. I know what I'd pick but let's see what you pick. Of course if you want more info you can ask!

"Merrito" was the pseudonym of Lakan 13 Left, a great artist and pornographer. The field of pornography was already very old and still underdeveloped when he started, but with such a low interest by the general public, he felt had to really get creative. Most pornography beforehand was very simplistic, just showing the acts of sex, but Merrito was not satisfied with this, opting for a more unique presentation style....

The "Spectrum" series features rainbowlike arrangements of multiple subjects, such as the one shown here. The shine on the eyes is visible due to the use of an As-Eye camera with Extraspectral settings. Merrito possessed the Extraspectral vision trait, and felt that others should see his works as close to the way he did as possible. This influence is also present in many of his paintings.
Not all of his art was pornographic. Even so, that is what he is most well-known for. Though he did not succeed in making sexually explicit works popular, he still gave us some pretty and sometimes thought-provoking things to look at. In this [["book"]] is a roughly chronological sequence of all of "Merrito"'s known pieces, accompanied by background information, and sometimes commentary by Merrito himself. We hope you will enjoy it.

Narus, we are an amalgam formed from the interactions of many independent beings. Our personality shifts as members enter and leave the group.

Other amalgams from the same pool of beings are currently observing many others in differing situations, but there is one common thread to all these situations.
Something very important is happening. Since you don't seem to have any problems yourself, it's quite likely that something more significant is about to occur.

Investigation is advised.

Oh, yeah. When I see eyes they just look black. People with the Extraspectral vision trait can see reflections on other people's eyes, unless those people have it too. It has to do with the stuff eyes are made of and how they receive light. You probably have... a different optical range completely. It usually depends on your sun. Or whatever you have. The first time I saw a shine shown on someone's eye, I thought it was kind of weird!
Mmmm, the second one was like... there-ish. I only have a really vague idea of where the first one came from but maybe it'll be helpful.

Compassion is an emotional response, and one which is best used as a weapon against our enemies.
These hostiles have attacked a civilian transport. This is something which must be discouraged. The most effective way to discourage such behavior is with immediate and horrific retribution. The goal is not just to kill them, but to make those who would follow proceed with caution.

Further, they demanded for us to be handed over. Responding immediately on our own helps establish that we are a player, not a pawn.

Also, I believe the best course of action to dispose of the nanites would be to append them to our own form as a means of increasing mobility and functionality.

Keep our liquid-propulsion gun, replace water with nanobots of some description. Something that sears, seals or damages "surface" organic matter, crippling the target like acid burns and incapacitating. Give them very limited rapid replication abilities, limited in that they will not exceed a certain population number and are calibrated to only replicate while target is not incapacitated. Target alien 1, fire off a quick batch of liquid-nanobots to sear the creepy thing's eyes shut!

You really want to change me that much? Geez... let's start with... hm. Being stronger sounds good.

Ah, we do have those. The [[magnetic sense]] recordings are neat, but they're really more of a novelty than anything. We have much finer hearing than [[magnetic sensing]]. We've also got soundscapes, which are recordings, or simulations of recordings, of locations. The idea is you close your eyes and imagine what it's like to actually be in those places as the sounds take you on like a tour. Some of the simulated ones are really realistic but also represent places that don't make sense spatially. Those are cool.

impulse weight registered to licking Narus with his permission (10[-1]) results in wrapping around Narus' leg, completely engulfing it from the foot up and into his shorts, exiting above the tail.employing tongue.description: non-lumpy, slightly rough texture.tension of the skin shifts around and muscles expand and contract.blood slides through veins beneath the skin, constricted slightly by pressure from tongue.skin's taste is light, very slightly savoury, and slightly bitter.there is a flap of folded skin, thinner than the surrounding skin but slightly denser.past is slightly mucous, with a smoother surface contacted immediately.all skin contacted quivers as the tongue slides over it and lightly massages, with response particularly toward the foot and base of the leg.shorts taste much like Earth khaki shorts, but have finer construction and are much smoother and more comfortable.

Narus' eyes widen at a particular moment
"ghhhuhhah" [[Holy crap]], that's a serious lick! [[Jesus]]!
Narus closes his eyes briefly. his leg shudders as the tongue slides off of it, followed by the rest of him.he slides a hand down his face.
If I meet any more aliens from other universes and they want to take samples from my body and lick me with giant tongues I will be very frightened of what's out there because three of you is incredibly freaky!
he pulls both of his legs toward him and looks concerned
"Don't um, lick me any more... please."

I'm going to add to the stored Cyral female form.

Those are brass knuckles. They're used to punch people better, but since you don't have any knuckles, I guess they're useless to you.

actually, that raises a point. how good are your people in unarmed hand to hand combat? would you be able to apply enough force with one hand to break another's skull?

Sure, throwing weight behind vaguely creepy F Cyril disguise. (not saying I want the output to be creepy. It's just the premise)

Let's also attempt some minor further Narus-optimization. Metabolic efficiency, neural conduction speed.

Then hibernate due to lack of internet. Wake us up when we get there, Narus.

Nah, I wouldn't feel safe with anything else at the moment.

Oh... Ok. Good-by, then.

No, not quite like that.

Stored Cyral female form preparation registered at 7.

>>159843
Impulse weight registered (3) is sufficient to just barely increase Narus' bodily efficiency

Normally I couldn't crush another Cyral's braincase or headplate, but I could possibly crush their jaw. I couldn't do anything like that to an Enial. Most people are.... ok at hand-to-hand combat...? I'm better than some, but my training had more of a focus on using a knife and avoiding getting stabbed by someone else's than fighting barehanded. When I won it was usually by surprising and outlasting my partners. Then there are people who study fighting and become REALLY good at different styles and stuff.
