This thread is about crossovers and possible crossovers.

First off is why a sleazy hooker-killing douche shows up in so many quests.
Okay, fine, the glasses are kinda cool.

Ok here's the deal.

Both Nic and Kara Quest start with Rastin, and set themselves up as taking place in the same universe. They run into the same enemies and everything. Then it was revealed in Apocalypticon that Vresh had a puppet leader named Rastin, and he took over the world using zombies, MIB agents and robots.

This put some people in mind that all three games took place in the same continuity. 6 years is enough time for everyone to still be alive, and it set up the possibility of some sort of crossover.

Then other people threw in the reference to be clever. Well, it's not. People just want to namedrop and flag in new readers.

Not really. I don't care how many people read my quests, all I need is one. Rastin is a throwaway reference, nothing more, nothing less. If it angers you so very much, I'll just delete the post.

Seriously, it was just a joke.

Nah, I don't think anyone's angry, Trip. I can personally tell you that I'm at least a little amused.

There were some suspicions that Rastin would become a big bad in another Quest, but that's clearly not the case. Nothing wrong with throwaway jokes. :)

Yet.

One more week, and I'll likely have a bit more time on my hands. And then who knows? I might just be crazy enough to try something.

I kinda hope this is tongue in cheek, cause the novelty's wearing a bit thin. I think a lot of #rq is starting to get headaches over the character's widespread use. ^^'

Not to be discouraging, but we'd really not grind the trope into the ground. The orb as a universal quest trope I can kinda see, it's a neat convention that allows for first-person storytelling and a unique form of character-player interaction, whereas Rastin is mainly a specific shadowy puppetmaster with Gurren shades. So yeah.

References can be fun, but since Rastin's so overdone at this point, it may be more prudent to make them subtle. :)

Also huh. I had no idea there was a singer named Rastin. He's kinda hot.
