I swore to myself I'd only post a discussion when I got to chapter one and was done with all this tutorial/prologue stuff but...

With the main status screen now introduced in its functions I feel like it's time to get this thing up for comments and other concerns as I give my first shot at this whole quest thing!

If not obvious, this is going to be a widely free-form quest based around the Princess Maker series with more heavy direction on plot and character development. I can promise a metric shit-ton of NPCs and a fun little venture through low fantasy vaguely Asian landscapes. Once you and your child arrive at Teten, you're basically going to be set loose while I sit back here and run numbers to determine how I develop the child.

I look forward to raising a baby with you all, and maybe other stuff on tgchan as I get settled.

Your art is fantastic, by the way.

THESE BREAST-FEEDING MECHANICS ARE TOTALLY UNREALISTIC

But seriously this is looking cool. Based on Princess Maker, you say? Sounds great. There was one other quest like this before and it sorta died because people kept trying to optimize everything rather than just do what was fun.

That was Gnome's right? He was telling me about how he tried something similar before while I was planning this.

Optimization may happen, but all numbers and hard stats will be 100% hidden from player view and just used by me to keep things quantitative from a writing standpoint! It will be difficult for any neurotic helicopter parenting to occur. Getting too optimized will probably turn him into an unstable robotic mess.

SO DON'T DO THAT.

And thank you 44 I'm trying my hardest.

Yeah. How To Raise A Princess.

Maybe it'd have been better if the numbers were hidden from us for that one too.

I just realized this is technically how to raise a prince.
Is there a game called how to raise a prince too or is that genre exclusively for raising little ladies?

Wonder project J, maybe? Or there was that annoying minigame in the zelda oracle games where you sorta raised a kid by proxy. Although mine always ended up as a useless fat blob. :V

My pet protector is kinda that, but you make him into an adventurer. (First one is best in my opinion, all the others added too many things)

There is a Prince Maker!

It's what my status screen is ripped from, actually.
