Don't know if this helps:

Do you use some form of lighting when you take photos? That can help produce a clearer image sometimes. Also you can use light strokes to create a draft of what you want to draw and then use heavy strokes to finalize the image.

I've started trying to center things under my overhead light, with the flash off. And I've fiddled with some basic editing software, which should hopefully mean crisper images. We'll see in the next batch of update (coming soon.^TM)
And that's exactly what I do! I draw a rough outline in light, quick strokes, draw the real thing with a sharp pencil, lightly erase to get rid of the light strokes, and then draw over any spots I accidentally erased again. It seems to work pretty okay.

Also nobody gets any points for guessing where I stole the looks for the guards from.
Puppets and Muppets are actually really good drawing practice, as it turns out.

Once you get into it, I highly suggest looking at bone andmuscle groupings. Learning that stuff early on will make grasping anatomy a lot easier in the long run than if you started with one of those godawful how 2 draw anime books like I did.

don't be afraid to trace things, either. It'll help you get a feel forhow lines should go, just don't post that stuff. It's technically theft if you do that in most cases, but for personal practice it's a handy way to get a feel for things.

There's tons of art guides out there on the DA and the FAs, look into those as well

Rescue Quest now features Advanced Digital Editing Techniques.
I can't decide if they look like trash or not. On the one hand, I kind of like how it makes things look unnatural. I can use that to highlight important things. On the otherhand, euugh it looks so weird aaaa I can't make it just right
