Probably pre-emptive but heyyy it's a discussion thread for my lil' new quest https://tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/715404.html
Send all ooc questions and stuff here, and I'll occasionally dump Bodie relevant art here as characters are revealed, like the snazzy little stylized pic of Scottie there.

Aaand Ester is officially introduced so she can go here too. Hers is my favorite out of these little portraits.

Took me like 4 viewings in the quest to realize that her spine is exposed. The color/style really matches her dress.

The spine idea was inspired by Bloody Marie! Ester's fully skeletal under her dress :>

>>99052
Haha oops. I meant to make it a little subtle so it'd be more surprising when you did notice, but maybe I overdid it.

Jonesyyy. The ladies' man Bodie makes his appearance and immediately the readers are prepared to kill him, and something about that just cracks me up.

So am I interpreting this correctly?

Scottie literally ate Ester's torso and such and she's running on magic stuff pretty much?

Because damn buddy. Just damn.

Is that why one of her character goals is to fuck up his day?

>>99062
Yep! Each member of the family has their own powers and Scottie's deals with necromancy. So he kept Ester around even after he decided to make her dinner. Ester needs him to stay alive, so she just gets her revenge in pettier ways.

Neat!

Is the cat cannibalism detector put in place by a member of the family, or is there some magical authority who got sick of his shit?

Super cool quest by the way, I'm loving it thus far!

From the main thread:

Thought of this immediately.

>>99066
I'm so glad you like it! And the cat is an outside magical interference, since the family wouldn't care about Scottie's cannibalism unless he got caught by the police.

>>99070
Jonesy works with blood magic! So things like blood bending along with blood pacts with other magic users. Ester has no blood, which is why his powers are useless with her.

And the animated version of one of today's panels! Gimp compressed it so badly I didn't want to use it, so in the quest thread I used just the flat version.

Thanks!
Talon Bodie is the father of the current generation of Bodie's. He died of a brain hemorrhage triggered by a lengthy demonic possession. The eye bleedy thing is more symbolic of the demon claiming his soul than of his actual cause of death.

IM FUCKING LAUGHING OH MY G O D
is there any significance to them all having darker blue hair with the dad having light blue? or is it just aesthetic (Cool too)
was the demonic possession, ah, intentional? or did he just get way in over his head?

Some of the kids actually do have a closer hair color to Talon than others. The blue/pinkness is a dominant gene to mark the bloodline, but can be shifted in shade by other genes and variables.

As for the demonic possession, he voluntarily dealt with demons, but the possession itself was probably a slip up.

Who's the last surviving person from the last generation? They stick around? Coming to dinner mayhaps?

What about the generation before that? Crazy old grandpa Bodie still kicking around somewhere?

>A quest to determine who out of a group of seven siblings will be the sole survivor of the bloodline's curse.
Hmm. If we're actually going to get most of them killed (and not somehow try to broker peace, or at least a stalemate), Hattie is easily the most sympathetic, for the moment. Scottie's the least, after cannibalizing Ester. And I'd actually put Lori above Jonsey, despite the finger biting. She just seems weird, while he seems more like a deliberate jerk / provocateur.

It would be nice if there's a way Ester could survive Scottie. Pretty sure she'd gladly backstab him if anyone offered her an alternative means of survival to dependence on him.

How exactly do you pronounce "Bodie"? Is it like, "Bode-ee", or more like "Body"?

Mainly because I want to be able to say "Scottie Bodie" as a rhyme and have fun with it.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been sick and not getting much done drawing-wise.

>Last generation's Bodie
Talon Bodie was the survivor but died about 15 years previously. As for a Grandma/Grandpa Bodie, I didn't plan for it! So should one exist, they don't live in the household with the others.

>>99260
Bloodlust for the blood mage.

But yeah, even if the Bodies decide not to murder each other, they'll die in horrible ways until only one is left. So eliminating the competition does increase your chances of surviving, though it isn't absolutely needed. Talon survived his generation by avoiding conflict and then disappearing to wait out his siblings killing each other.

As for Ester, she needs some form of necromancy magic to live. Since Scottie's the only necromancer on the estate, she'd need outside interference to stay alive without him.

>>99280
It's Bode-ee! But it's still a play on the word Body since it's supposed to be like Mr. Boddy from Cluedo hehe.

Aaand picture unrelated to any of these questions but I don't like making a post without a pictures so a little doodle comic from when I first made Scottie.

So it's the curse of being alive.

I think this quest might benefit some from the occasional multiple choice? With an "other" option as well.
>>
No. 99519 ID: 40a091

>>99515
I can give it a try! I figured people liked things open ended so they could come up with their own ideas for what to do but I'll try out multiple choice and see how it goes.
