Are you sure it isn't going to suck out my blood or something? I like my blood inside, actually.

I am not letting those fangs near my tender snout, scavenger or not.

So... it's just sort of staring at me. At my neck full of delicious blood.

I should do something before its bloodlust overtakes it, and it attacks. Maybe give it something?

Like a bit of jerky, or a knife in the eye.

What should I do?

It's a mammalian kobold. Give it a hug or rub its nose and it'll be happy to have found a friend. They're as simple as they are peaceful.

Alright, alright, I'll rub the things damn nose! But I'm still not letting it near my neck.

Sigh... I am probably going to regret this shortly when its danish are sunk into my fingers...

...Well, it's making funny noises, but I guess that is better than mauled fingers.

Now what?

Incidentally, that was the kobold's FANGS, not DANISHES. :I The kobold is fresh out of pastry.

Pocket danish. Search for an exit. The kobold had to come from somewhere.

Found it. As I said, the problem was light, not a hidden exit.

I'll just grab my torchshroom, and we'll set off.

Not really sure what that kobold is doing with the small mushrooms...

We've been sneak- walking quietly for a while now, and now there is a fork in the path.

The kobold, who seems to be annoyed about something, apparently thinks we should go
down the right path, but that one looks awfully dark. I would rather in to the left - it looks like there is some kind of light at the end. I do rather like light more than darkness.

What should I do?

But... it's such a small light. and what if it- what if there is, uh, treasure down that way?

Okay, okay. I'll listen to the kobold. Just... just give me a minute. To get my bearings.

...

Alright, we're going. The kobold is now grumbling to himself about something, though I do not speak whatever language that is.

He is probably just tired of wandering around dark caves, too.

Really wish we had used the other tunnel.

O-okay, knife out, backing away. This may be a bad time, but when I called this my 'trusty knife', did I mention I haven't used it in combat for a long time? Not since I was back home...

>>393899

When that thing burst in, I dropped my mushroom in t- in a tactical manuver. I'm sure if it eats them, it will in eat it. Over there. Away from me.

That stupid kobold is still shouting, but he seems to have changed to a different language that is also gibberish to me. How helpful it was to bring him along.

So, what now? Run? I like that plan, myself.

It looks like the kobold used some magic... or maybe it might have just blown some mushroom spores? You should probably see if it tastes fizzy. That means magic.

On the other hand, if spores make you instantly sprout fungal growths from your flesh, maybe you shouldn't lick them after all.

How's the kobold reacting to all this?

Is there anything else in the room of note?

Yeuck, no way. That thing is gross and slimy, and the mushrooms seem to be growing faster now that it's dead.

Though, I am pretty hungry now that you mention it... Maybe I should get out the jerky.

Uh, he's shouting at me again, and I still don't understand him,

I'm uh, pretty familiar with that particular body language, actually.

Mmm, delicious jerky. Best travel food, ever. Screw those hard biscuits, yech.

And I'm not starting a fight with someone who maybe can cover me in mushrooms so I rot into goop like that worm thing.

Besides, he got tired of yelling at me, I guess, and is leading the way again. I believe I see some light at the far end of the tunnel. I think we're nearing an exit!

Well, there is the exit. I can see it is twilight outside, which means I might have been out for only a few hours after I fell, or over a day. Not sure yet.

My guide is making it petty clear he wants me to leave, and probably not come back.

I don't have any problems with that, but I remember that glowing room, and now know the way out. I... guess I could go back to check it out, but I would have to convince the kobold to let me back in.

So what should I do? Leave or head back in?

You seem to be strangely intent on going into that glowing room.
Inexplicable urges to go to an area are often caused by mind-manipulating monsters that want to eat your brain meats.
