Because we couldn't decide who's discussion thread to put this in.

This is a short quest written by Typo, drawn by me. The image on the left shows the concept art of the main cast, as well as a size comparison. The slissa is very tiny.

From what Slinkoboy said on IRC, both sets are the same people. The left side has them all to scale, to demonstrate their size differences (slissas are so tiny!), while the right side is there to actually show the smaller ones better.

To top it off, this slissa is a child, so he's even tinier. They grow to be roughly 2.5 feet (76cm) tall but he's barely a foot (30cm).

You already agreed to draw a quest starring a sergal. Why would you back out if it turns out that the sergal acts like a sergal in this quest? I mean, eating other sentients is sort of a thing sergals are known for. Not all of that is just stereotypes due to Rain, you know.

Since the third character has not yet been revealed and the quest had been going a while, I suspect that they - she? - are in some way involved.

So hey, someone in the main thread had a point: do we really get to count all those desperate, one-sided hugs? Seems like if the goal is to rack up all the hugs (and the goal of EVERY quest is to rack up all the hugs, make no mistake), it looks like we could just spam hugs every frame.

A hug is a hug is a hug. But you do have to actually do things that aren't hugs from time to time. Note that fifty-plus images in our counter's only at seven.

Content-Aware fill. It's a new feature in Photoshop CS5 that allows you to "erase" things in pictures and it'll make an amazingly good guess at what the background would look like behind that object. If you google it, the first result is a video of it in action.

...Doesn't do so well on sergal cities, though.

POST-MORTEM TIME

See, in the segment in the middle I was hoping to write this big epic oh wait all i did was draw pictures.

I thought coloring it would be a nightmare, but it turned out to only be half a nightmare. There was also some stylization and speedup tricks I picked up on the way, including molding Saikhan from trying to look like an official sergal into something more along what I draw normally, for easier and faster drawing times. There was also a lot of general experiments with color and painting, since in some ways this was a practice fun for Slissa Quest, which also intends to be in color.

Also a good half of what Lyskir did was me having him be cute when typo forgot to write him doing something <:3

None of the Hugs characters are showing up directly... unless I decide to cameo Lyskir which i will not deny is a good possibility.

Fish is kind of the more serious quest Hugs was an unknowing testbed for. Slissa Quest itself will probably wait for Fish to complete before starting, since it's meant to be a high production major quest and I don't want to spend 8 hours a day having to draw both.

But I'm still leading up to SQ in ways that will be more obvious soon.
