AKA unreasonably angry dragon quest theres been a lot of interesting ideas ive seen popping up in the thread, and where some come really close to the truth, some go pRETTY FAR so this is where i will clear things up yeah some key points id like to first elaborate on- Ella did NOT escape-she is from a different district of color where the Joining lets you leave-she was assigned by the church(which eventually the story will have an arc on)to watch that door, offer residence and money and information to those wishing to leave the church and ella are both unaware that this certain district is not allowing people to leave, which will also be elaborated on and as for bubbles mindless racism, shes just really ignorant of how life actually works, so yes, she will get over it eventually and, bubbles is not a battery for color-the giving of magic to color has its own spell measures, she cant just 'be there' to give it energy so yeah!!! extra art i make will go here, as well as more explaining and question answering ouo wooo

I want to give a brief apology here for the low quality of my posts - at the moment, I am pretty much working with a 6"x4" notepad, a mechanical pencil, and a cell phone camera. Despite that, I feel like the quality has improved a bit since I started, both in drawing skill and learning to use the camera better. There probably could be something said here about perserverence in the face of frustrating odds, but I won't say it. Wait...

Here's a thread for discussing bitchy zebra sorceresses and turning cute mongoose sidekicks into mutant zeppelins. Information and blah blah blah about this quest. You are a slime now, you got those cool slimey features like the being immune to piercing and slashing and the acidity level. But expanding on slime in this quest, you are a veritable living petri dish. Depending on the substances you eat you will evolve into different forms of ooze. For example if you begin eating a diet of solid rocks and water you become a grey slime- whose acidity level is higher to digest rocks. If you digest more solids then liquids you become a flan monster, a more solid version of a slime. If you eat certain organic things, though, you may evolve out of the ooze monster category. Keep these things in mind and eat all sorts of stuff.

Because I'm entertaining my head with the planning of several quests I need a green or red light to go on. I have a natural inclination towards three different quests, House of Glory, Ubilis Quest and Plant Universe. They're all more or less slipshod. I think that House of Glory, which is a resurrection of my teenage fantasy mood, is getting somewhere but the other two are more or less full of holes especially Plant Universe, which is sooo mad and extremely not a beginner's quest to run. Should I run or not run something else?

A script was recently written to make graveyard-ing semi-automatic. A mod can now just press a link and the server will graveyard quests that haven't been posted in for a couple months. This means three things: 1: It's nothing personal. If your quest is in the graveyard, it just means you haven't updated it in a while! 2: Don't report a quest to be revived unless you have an update ready to go. It will otherwise be thrown right back into the graveyard the next time the script is run. 3: Be doubly sure you report completed threads! A finished thread that isn't reported will get thrown into the graveyard by the cold unfeeling script. I should also point out that due to kusaba limitations, you can only report a thread once, even after the report is cleared. Occasionally someone will go through and report every thread just to be a jerk, so I recommend reporting the second or third post in a quest waiting to be revived. Reporting the final update is fine for a quest being archived. This thread will self destruct in a few days. Feel free to field questions here.

I swore to myself I'd only post a discussion when I got to chapter one and was done with all this tutorial/prologue stuff but... With the main status screen now introduced in its functions I feel like it's time to get this thing up for comments and other concerns as I give my first shot at this whole quest thing! If not obvious, this is going to be a widely free-form quest based around the Princess Maker series with more heavy direction on plot and character development. I can promise a metric shit-ton of NPCs and a fun little venture through low fantasy vaguely Asian landscapes. Once you and your child arrive at Teten, you're basically going to be set loose while I sit back here and run numbers to determine how I develop the child. For all things demonic and musical. To start off a list of abilities currently in Shax's possession, as well as Geet, the imp now under his command. Shax Markov -Infernal Bolts, bolts of demonic energy that will rip away flesh, cloth and steel and kill target instantly if they strike the heart. Otherwise, it's just very, very painful. Shax can do this naturally thanks to the demonic influence in his bloodline, and can fire off an indefinite number of bolts. -Cone of Flame, a burst of magical fire explodes from Shax's fingertips, engulfing enemies in fiery death. Can only do this twice before requiring rest. -Imprison Soul, Shax can imprison the souls of the recently dead within his left arm, and use them to fuel his summoning of demons. The minute a person dies within an 100 foot radius of Shax, he can feel their death, as well as the amount of taint, if any, the person had upon their soul, as well as the type of sin. The more taint a person has, the better the soul is for using in summoning, particularly if the demon trying to be summoned is of the same sin as the soul. Geet, Imp of Wrath -Limited Invisibility, grants the user a limited form of invisibility. While not completely invisible, the user become very hard to detect, especially if you aren't carefully looking for him. -Poison, Geet's poison causes the afflicted to slowly grow more filled with rage and prone to violent outbursts for seemingly no reason at all.

Ok, judging by that infodump in the main quest, it seems like you folks could do with an actual discussion thread! In relation to said infodump, I'd better clarify a few things. For instance, although the quest does take place in the Exalted setting, and you may pick up on one or two extra details or clues through familiarity with said setting, don't be too trusting in what you already know! For example, the possible magical powers available were mentioned. In Lunar Quest, a lot of the elements of the system have been simplified and folded into each other - for example, the array of Excellencies has been reduced to the Boost system. Similarly, Abilities and specialities have been folded together into Competencies, and Saulanna's method of improving herself bears no relation to the xp/training time mumbojumbo that Exalted uses. And it's not just the game system. Our heroine has no idea what year in the setting it is... so, neither do you. It's different, in summary! This quest should be just as fun for people who aren't familiar with Exalted as it is for people who are. Keep an open mind, hey?

The City is a space station in orbit around a planet. It maintains a stable orbit by firing attitude jets and maintains Earth standard gravity. This is information any of the inhabitants can attain from simple experimentation. The City is large enough for 3 billion people to live on simultaneously, as of the quest only 40 million people live on The City. Not much is known about the universe outside of the city, or even the city itself. Command & Control and the enigmatic Master of Ceremonies make certain of that. The city is home to a mixture of Humans and Reploids, both of whom live in fear of the Master of Ceremonies and his Tyrannical Regime. Reploids and Humans that choose to obey the edicts of MoC are allowed to live, to toil on behalf of The City's rulers. Those who refuse are hunted down and dissasembled for parts, even the humans since their organic components are useful for creating bionic parts.

Also, in case it wasn't clear, Dixie herself can change how commands work, so if you want to make things by majority instead of in order of entry, or make it where nobody can lock out access, just talk to her when you aren't being shot at by robots and solders and stuff!

I did not have any inclination to post this in my actual thread, but we can play dress up here. I know everyone likes to do this stuff. Anybody else should feel free to post their nekkid quest characters here for us to scribble on as well. Plus there won't be a reason to use the inevitable silly ones in the actual quest.
Here on thchan/quest, every single quest I have come across without exception performs actions based on user upvote and downvote. However, lacking a built in voting mechanism this is very cluttered. Even if you ignore downvotes of downvotes, counting who votes for what is a nightmare and bogs down quests. It also takes up a lot of unnecessary space with posts. It would be far more practical if there was a built in voting mechanism, where you could up or downvote each post (ideally, have the option to use a [vote] tag to section off a post into parts which are voted on separately. Also would be great if it color coded outlined the posts (based on how positive or negative the total score is) and that votes are recorded such that you can see who voted for what.

For now, I leave you with this bit of information. SOLAR SIPHONS! The main source of energy for the Empire. It's technology has been refined over the tens of thousands of years it's been in use, but the basic concept remains the same. Instead of trying to capture sunlight and produce energy using that, the Empire got the crazy idea to set up large "mining" stations above various stars, and proceed to literally rip plasma straight out of the thing. At first this was horribly inefficient, but that to got refined when someone got the brilliant idea to set up plasma catchers above worlds, and simply beam plasma to a world as needed. Eventually, solar siphons became the number one source of both energy and materials, as the raw plasma could easily be coaxed into forming into various minerals and materials, as long as you let it continue compressing itself long enough. Plasma, as such, has become the most common form of everything used within the empire. Bullets, for example, are simply small pieces of plasma injected into a rail gun like design that then launches it at a target. Clips now consist of little more than globes of raw plasma places into a tube.

But the purpose of this thread, at least initially, is for quest authors to draw charts comparing their characters to each other in terms of strength, speed, skills, or whatever else. You'll see what I mean in a moment; I've drawn a couple of these myself, and since they were so fun I thought maybe someone else will have a go at it as well, and there might as well be a thread. Figured I'd toss up a thread here where you guys can yell at me for typos, misinterpreted decisions, and whatever else I may fuck up. That, and answering any broader questions about the setting to the uninformed/random shit I cant fit in the quests main thread for one reason or another. To start, it was supposed to be Jean Croce and Rico that picked you up. No, it wasnt some insane cross-fratello training exercise that would probably end in Henrietta having a breakdown and Jose feeling like scum. That, and the fact that the thread is titled "Qunslinger Girl Quest" are the two most glaring symptoms of my mindset of "Fuck it, I'm gonna do it" when I started the quest. As to currently relevant info, yes, you do have a set of earpieces/radios that you can use, and yes, they are good ones. And thats my bit, my quest now has a questdis, yay!

Hey guys! I was figuring I'd wait to make a thread for this until I got the first chapter done, but I realize I'm moving very slowly with updates so I'll do it now. I haven't forgotten it, but this week's been busy, and I have all intentions of getting back to updating by this weekend or early next week. In the meantime, I'll be lurking around here, though. So several friends of mine are playing a wide scale home-brew strategy game, in which the players control countries in a scifi/steampunk world. It occurred to us that a Quest in this world played on the individual scale would be interesting, so we looked to TGchan. We arent quite ready to get started on a regular basis, but will have time to do so at a later date. The biggest problem I forsee, is not a lack of skill on my behalf, but one simple fact: I Dont Have A Tablet. I have tried a few things in paint, and I didnt like the results, so I have been considering making it a text quest, because I am much more confidant in my writing skills than my ability to give enough visual detail with Paint. Any suggestions on using Paint with a crappy touchpad and making it look good would be welcomed, as well as basic suggestions on GMing a quest.

So yeah this is the new quest I was thinking of. Not quite Red Gift, but that was mainly cause I can't draw avnari for crap. Anyway, I'm using this quest to see how I can function with a dice roll system to help the quest feel less streamlined. Any suggestions on how I can improve is welcome. This also requires physical contact. * The cost of healing or creating/changing structures in an organism's biology is massive pain. Blood loss will also occur, if the change is major (restoring lost fingers and limbs, changing bone structures, etc.), and the greater the change, the more it requires. Well, let's try. I mostly put off starting a dis thread due to now wanting to start one too soon after I started, but it seems that it's needed. Any questions, any at all, lemme know. Or, y'know, just discuss!
Figure this will be needed eventually, and better sooner than later. You may have noticed that my update speed is currently pretty slow as hell. This is mostly because I, in a fit of idiocy, decided to start this quest the week before Finals. Updates should be faster than just once a day starting sometime later next week (maybe I'll even get to two a day!), until then, I'll try to keep up at least one update a day. This is also pretty much my first time doing anything drawing-related for extended periods of time. I don't have a tablet, so I'm pretty much limited to scanning things, and then mousing in any touch ups needed or whatever. If anyone has any tips to make this process easier, or the final result more presentable, it'd be appreciated. Comments, criticism, and tips welcome.

I must say I very much like where the quest is going so far. I don't know if the bureaucratic blip we've seen was planned all along or it is a narrative way of denying us any "outside" help in our mission, but it worked out nice regardless. Anyway. Farmer, how big of a part do you see the operators play in the quest when they try "investigating from their side"? Do you think Planetfall could have two parallel lines, i.e. us hepling Weasel survive and us trying to work around the rules in HQ?

Could be every couple of days, or every couple of weeks. I'd like to digitally paint every panel as I feel it helps set a certain mood and atmosphere, but it's still somewhat time-intensive. Also, around New Year's (perhaps a month or so earlier? We'll see), I'll be pausing this quest so I can start one I've been meaning to run for quite some time. (I started this one first because Halloween came first, and I was tired of having these ideas rotting in my brain. Plus, I don't feel comfortable with the current lack of planning for the other one.) - So, any questions/comments/concerns? This is the discussion thread, after all! Soon after I began Bubble Bucket it came to mind that I wanted to do another quest in which I spent more time on the panels, so it was a high quality drawing in which I am capable of when I care to. It wouldn’t be as strict and rules/mechanics based like Bubble Bucket is and would then be following the Rule of Cool. I don’t want to actually begin this until Bubble Bucket reaches its conclusion, so I won’t. I do however want to begin working on it early so I can get enough planned so I’m not scrambling to prepare after my first completed quest. Instead of beginning the quest with a large series of questions about the character, I’m going to allow tgchan to help me build the main character before it begins at all. Giving me time to take the rough molded character from my players/audience and create a final product. I don’t like the idea of just throwing together a new character on the fly and trying to run with it, but at the same time I know a good portion of /quest/ loves to have a hand in the spark of life of the Protagonist(s). I will spoil early that any really good ideas from the Genesis stage will possibly be written and drawn into the quest as it goes further down the line. First Step: Voting on a major race from my Brackets world for the main character(s). (Note: Only vote on the main race, all information after the colons is simply to provide a good idea what you will be voting on next). Bubble Touched/Dragons: Mostly live in the Rainbow Islands, over a dozen clans, and 6 base colors and abilities. Considered the most human/normal race on the planet. Furry: A good portion of the continents of Mingxia and Amaranton. Varied degrees of animal humanoids, from almost entirely human to so animal it hurts.
